Driving the Miata in the winter snow is quite easy and only requires one simple thing. SNOW tires, not "all-season" tires. AS tires are mislabeled as it actually means they SUCK in ALL seasons.
if you want te make a real donut....try to not steer contra...but keep steering in one direction...i kan make this 180 turn with a frontwheel drive (e-brake) so if you steer all time to one direction youl make a real donut
you need snow to that in your 280z? it must have a really lame engine. my '84 300zx would do that only way better on dry pavement. and it was a stock n/a motor. i find my self saying this to a lot people and im getting tired of it but you need to learn how to drive!
@landoncholly well you know you have so so much exp in driving you have just mastered it to the point where you can tell other people how to drive, and i never told anyone learn how to drive. if your so good why dont you upload a vid of your perfect donuts
my 92 was loads of fun car handles better then a porche ... or a gocart theyre a little underpowered but still fun as hell 2 drive i dont see why they wouldnt be reiliable if u take it easy in em wasnt as impressed with the fuel milage course i normaly drive a tercel lol but ive had several people make fun of it ... untill i took them for a ride they changed theyre mind
Actually, I suspect that this car might have an LSD in it.
Mazda might have that in their records, whether it originally came with a viscous LSD, so I do plan on calling them. Of course, someone could have always put the Mazdaspeed clutch-type LSD in after the fact, too.
nah, i don't think they have it in the records. you have to look under the car yourself and find out. there are several pictorials on how to find out.
prolly a Torsen swap. thats what i got... its a brick house. i check the fluid level every now and again. been sliding around for 2 years on it now and is still good. a common swap tho.
Its fun driving MX-5 during winter time, the weight ratio is perfect, and the handling is great. I live north of the artic circle and i drive my MX-5 the whole year, including winter. And we have a lot of winter here in the north of norway:)
I used to do this with my FC (RX-7) all the time in NY during the winter. I haven't done it with my Miata as it don't snow that much down here in TN. I can attest to the fun-ness.

DO you drive your miata in winter like all winter and how does it perform ????
slyzxx1 8 months ago
@slyzxx1 It's not running any more, but with snow tires and a limited slip diff, it did quite well in Ohio winters.
The same things that make it extremely controllable on pavement make it extremely controllable on ice, if you've got the right tires for the job.

coool
i have a miata too ;) titanium grey
anyways what kinda of headlights do u have? new bulbs? or are they hid's?
vvind 4 years ago
In this vid, just regular H6024 sealed beams.
My camera had white-balanced on the sodium lights, so it made the Miata's headlights look blue.
Now I'm running Hella e-codes with plain old 55W/60W H4 bulbs, though.
