HA! I just watched Robocop for the first time in about 2 years(?). DLd it as a rental from XBL and got to see it fully unedited. Great movie; has that 'South Park' style(brilliant political and social satire underneath violence and stupidity).

The Murphy death scene saddens me especially now being a father of two. But I also felt that empathetic rage that he later feels in the movie when he revives as Robocop. I'd do the same thing, probably, lol.

I loved ROBOCOP. I always think that Alex Murphey's death was the cruelest thing in the world, but it made a good impact on the movie to show the chaos like that. Robocop needs a damn come back.

Man, I first saw this at the ripe age of 7, and boy was that a mistake. It was hard to watch. It took me a few years to really be able to handle violance that hardcore. As an adult, I see it for the parody it is, and consider Verhoeven to be brilliant. Those sick, twisted Germans. I love 'em!

The 80s was a decade ridden with drug wars, gangster rule etc etc.. and the violence in this movie can be linked to that although the scene of Murphy's death is disturbing even today. Totally an excellent movie.

Seriously, I don't think Robocop is as bad as the pure gore movies nowadays. I watched Hostel once and almost puked when the lady's eye got cut off with a scissors. Gave me nightmares man. The hand being blown off in Robocop is nothing compared to that.

Man whenever they show the movie on tv, they always cut most of the gore out,, pussies. I love the hand being blown off with the shotgun. It looked so realistic at the same time looking so cheap. thats why i love the ghetto horror films, they look so cheap but it makes it look so realistic at the same time.

Awesome movie! But dang, that guy getting shot up by ED209 was bloodier than what I've seen.

Incidentally, much of this, such as Murphy dying, and the chase scene around, was filmed on Zug Island, MI, where I used to work. (before I worked there, unfortunately)
