The stress, information-age work/lifestyle, meds for everything (depression), GMO foods, etc. has destroyed us & we don't even know it. Even bodybuilding was friendly back then. Now it is hiding out and being seperate until press conference at Olympia. I work out at Venice (Gold's & the pit) all the time. I would give 1 nut to be in my 20s-30s in the 70s/80s w/the old crew then instead of now

@haydenshut Well said...Southern California at the time arnold was king 68 to 77, was a magical place. Clean beaches, great food and simple minds. Everone today thinks they are stars! People were very simple back then here in So. Cal. I cannot really explain it unless you lived here back then. You had to travel 5 miles to find a fast food joint, now they are on every corner polluting the blood of their victims. There was NEVER super size anything back then. And the woman were thin!!....lol

There was much more wealth spreading around and the average american could afford alot more with the average salary compared to today where the average salary barely keeps the average american afloat. as a result there was less stress and people were happier. the economy took a but of a downturn in the late 80's but quickly rebounded in early 90's

Also, there is much more about Arnold then steroids. Youcould benefit from his tips, routines, mindset and advices even without steroids.

I dunno, maybe he made a mistake by exposing bodybuilding. There's a lot of shit around the sport because of it's profitability and popularity. Everyone pray roids.

I would give anything to have been in my 20's or 30 back in the 70's with them, training at Venice. Too bad I was born in '77! =/ They worked hard out of the gym also, at first with a normal job 8 hours a day while training for Mr. Universe, then business...trying to get bodybuilding into the mainstream as they trained for the Mr. Olympia...Well, mission accomplished but please bring back the look to CA/Hollywood now! Nothing but the 'man-boy' look is in now. Very sad.

I just got done explaining that even with the couple cycles a year of testosterone they took back then (which was nothing like what they have now), Arnold was the best of all time because he doesn't have the bloated 37" roid gut like pros loaded to the gills have now! He was a 30"/57" taper! That is not just steriods...That is dedication to training and dieting every day, the same power of focus that led him and Columbo to their success today.
