i got a 56 LED flashlight and its not amazing or anything but it lights a little more than this although this one is alot more concentrated mine is more disperced.
LAPD needed it because LAPD was having problem with officers using their MAGLITEs as batons. I never used a maglite as a baton, however, I can see why some officers do. At the academy, we were never told to use it as a baton as it could cause more major damage. I like my 7060, however, I prefer the maglite when I'm going into a dangerous area and I can't have my pepper spray/baton out. That's why officers prefer the mags, some of them get sued for having pepper spray out in anticipation.
I like this light so much Im ordering a second light, its expensive and rightly so...my "other" brand has expensive light assemblies to replace...its a matter of taste and the "mision"...I also carry a secondary compact lithium battery power light and a third attached to the duty carbine....light is so important...it identifies and locates as well as disorients....but be careful...dont siloutte your buddies and move after you shine it..Awesome light from Pelican and LAPD!!
I've been in active duty law enfordement south of the US border for over 9 yrs..and have used many duty lights..this one outperforms all others...mine has been the only one ON after all others power had ran out...and we have 12 to 18 hour shifts!!! only thing to improve would be a lanyard attachement point...and if it could be made a little thinner..it fits tight on the holder..2 or 3 times it would not go on..until I resetted it on the charger..who knows why? its Bright! and realy reaches out !
I ordered two today before seeing this video. One for myself, one for my brother. I'm sure we will really like them. One thing I didn't know about it is that you can turn it on with one switch, and turn it off with the other.
Very Nice demonstration. Thank. I ordered one online and am awaiting its arrival. I liked the function, that is that it can recharged without disassembling the battery compartment.
its not for exclusive use for LAPD. . .not the best light either IMHO but alright.

Haha you can beat someone with it, Niiiiiice!
krookedKiller13 3 years ago
A mag works better for that...but hey..if you're a cop then beating somebody with a flashlight is far from out of the question.
