come to think about it, there doing this because there good heated people, they would be good no mater their faith, Islam is merely an encouragement of this type of work. charity for eg. is a pillar of Islam, for those who give charity anyways, its an encouragement. Yes, that is a little over simplification, but it was the one comment that a girl made; "Allah says to feed the hungry, so that is what we are doing. " My point being one should do it because it is the right thing to do, not because "God" told you to. That goes for any religeon, it should come from within, not because of fear of punishment, no?

@weezieroy This is actually something that Islam teaches and emphasizes - you have to make a pure intention within your heart before you do anything, that your action is for God and the benefit of man-kind. If your intention isn't pure (that is, you're only doing for your own glory, etc.) then your action won't get you rewards from God.

It's an aspect of Islam that I wish more Muslims would talk about, I was very surprised when I learned about it, it shows a marked difference from Christianity.

@weezieroy But think about it: a homeless person won't have to worry about one more more meal during the week. No matter what their motivation is for doing good, good is still being done (people are being fed). I hope you wouldn't argue that's a negative thing. If the homeless were being pressured to convert or attend prayers to be fed, that would be a different matter not worthy of praise. But what these people are doing is positive and helps the community, there is no harm

These students are so sincere in their work among the homeless. Project Downtown in all the major cities across the nation and part of the Muslim Student Association. I am very sad by this response. They are helping out the homeless. Regardless of your religious affiliation or personal belief, in the end, it's a selfless act. And also I am saddened, that it's their tax dollars too... since they pay taxes as much as we do.

THere is so much sincerity in this video, everyone is talking from the heart. Whether it be a homeless person or a Muslim the commonality is visible. Love has no boundaries. It is God Given and a choice. Thank you to the makers of this short film. Another viewpoint on homelessness and Muslims.

The video was well made, I dont agree w/ all that what said in the video as far as the City "HIDING THE HOMELESS". It should be known that that City has many initiatives with homeless & have partnered w/ many orginazations in tackling this problem. remember, homeless are transient so a whole new group arrives to Tampa daily. The homeless problem here,exists in all mid & large size city. Tampa may attract the homeless more due to the warm weather but to say the City does nothing, is dead wrong.
