I mean that he's too much in the pizzicato stuff, and he misses the emotional depth of the story that the other instruments tell us. He plays only a bass line cover, sounds great, but he misses to take action together with the whole other stuff in the song.

I wonder if a wenge fingerboard would nail the neutrality of the tone more. Mine has the wenge fingerboard and it is subtly different.

Pretty darn good, man. Good rich tone -- maybe a tad more upper bass than the album.

By the way, it broke my heart to hear, just recently, that Stuart did not play on that track. I think the guy who did really jams it nicely, but it's shocking that it wasn't Stuart, 'cause I've always rocked to it thinking it was!

Stuart said this in an interview lately. It was the only album/CD song that he didn't play.

In fact Stuart was having some personal problems the day they recorded the base line for the album version so they just hired someone else (credited as "mister x" on the album) But for the single version is Stuart who plays the base so don't be broken hearted.

I don't like the album version, I prefer the single one, by the way, there is a longer version of Space Cowboy called "Stoned Again Mix" which last 6:30(base played by Stuart of course!)
