hmm... maybe his girlfriend Nadiya is Iranian and he was headed there, all along people assume they are both Iraqi but it could be a clue to where his character is headed, i do know he and she were both in danger, someone had been trying to kill her, Sayid was her torturer and her fell in love with her released her and when Jacob first met her and asked for her help she was badly hurt and bandaged in a hospital in the middle east possibly, i dont think they explained where she was, Iran?
