@melissa24mnm On the 'Abbey Road' album, most of Side 2 was taken up by several short songs that segued together (meaning they seamlessly blended into one another, no clean breaks between them) -- these are considered three separate songs, but the three of them run into each other, to sound as if one big song with three sections. The same thing is with Golden Slumbers, Carry that Weight, and The End. This is referred to as a medley, when songs (moreso, song fragments) blend together as a whole
My mom bought a Fisher Price record player for us when my brother and I were kids. We were supposed to listen to the children theme records designed for it, but I'd always reach into my dad's Beatles record collection and play them on it. The sound quality was lousy, but I'll always remember the rotating apple and my mom being concerned about me finding Mean Mr. Mustard amusing.
@GogorisChannel yes, this clip is simply where I pointed a video camera at the turntable and turned up the speakers loud. I stopped doing this lazy-man way, and now any 'vinyl video' clip is direct to PC.
I wonder if they are going to put every single album (remastered) onto vinyl again! Or better yet, release it around Christmas, oh and it would be cool if they put the original Parlophone/Apple labels on the LP's, and put it in a Vinyl-Box set!!! Only this time, release over 1 million box sets better that like a Limited Edition!!!
@ChazYocom If there was enough of a market demand for the Beatles remasters on vinyl, then it just might happen ... the Rolling Stones just put out their entire studio vinyl LP output over two box sets ... the Beatles could do a stereo and a mono box like the CDs from last year. Only a matter of time ... they always find ways to make the "Beatles for sale"
@ninjaerik There are several used LP copies of Abbey Road on eBay and for less than 1/2 of what Best Buy would charge for a new copy (this includes shipping) might want to take a chance on a used copy -- I buy vinyl from eBay all the time and for the most part it works out fine.
@outlawcountryman good for you -- I saw that today was the day the Beatles music was finally made available on iTunes ... that people would still rather hear them on vinyl says something
@rjciccone you got that right. and when i saw the beatles were on itunes i had a cow, i dont purchase from itunes, but an agreement of both apple records, and apple inc is hard to comprehend they have been filing lawsuits for 30 years kinda hard to figure it, i guess paul and ringo figured they could make alot of folks happy and make some more money to..
@outlawcountryman Beatles on iTunes yet another way for them to sell the songs and indeed the decades-old lawsuits now finally history. For many who have the CDs and records, not much of a big deal, but it's cool that folks who want just a few songs, not a whole album can now get legit downloads.
Mr Mustard and Polythene Pam is for sure a couple and is so good not to seperate them. The belong together forever. And I heard, that Mr. Mustard is a friend of Frank Zappa's "Wino man ("Wonderful Wino",Zoot Allures)". Thx for posting.
Chromatic power chords, time change. High energy D, A, E on acoustic guitar. Transitions between songs very good. Harmonies on "She came..." excellent.
@13lostlove13 i know whatn u mean but i always kinda liked mini disc. i still got my MD player and the discs still work as new. they can't be scratched cos they in a little case. same capacity as a cd too.
@13lostlove13 Vinyl just sounds better than CDs and MP3 files - long as the vinyl is in at least good condition and you have a good enough turntable and needle.
@13lostlove13 You're fourteen. You weren't even alive when vinyl was still a viable, marketable format. You've never owned a real record player, you've likely never owned any vinyl, and your only exposure has been to people like me who HAVE owned it and like to view it through rose-tinted glasses. Vinyl now is only marketed in small amounts to a niche, hipster market of other fourteen-year-olds and so-called "audiophiles" who conveniently forget its drawbacks.
@13lostlove13 Furthermore, if you're going to be an analog snob, at least be one about a medium which deserves it. Such as hi-fi reel-to-reel. Oh wait, but you probably don't know what that is.
@13lostlove13 No, I just get a kick out of children who try to sound smart by liking things that are "retro". Vinyl might sound better, but everything else you said in your statement was wrong. Objectively speaking, CDs are more durable and cheaper to own and produce. Modern CD players can overlook most scratches, plus you can clean scratches off CDs. Vinyl wears out remarkably fast without immaculate care, and even then it's just counting down the clock. Voice of experience, right here, buddy.
@13lostlove13 How about you don't say stupid shit and then you won't have to get butthurt when people call you out on it? That sounds like a better plan, to me.
@SuperMeanmrmustard I'm not entirely sure exactly where I got this copy of 'Abbey Road', could have been give to me as part of someone's LP collection they gave away, could've been from a thrift store.
@jonmonbuckeye1 Arguably their best album - and as a friend once pointed out years ago, surprisingly chocked with superb guitar leads and playing in general.
I really should have started with "You Never Give Me Your Money" since it segues into "Sun King" then the three songs of the medley "Mustard/Pam/Window" but the time limitations made that not possible -- besides "Sun King" can stand alone -- whereas these three and "Slumbers/Weight/the End" are both "three-in-one" songs
To me, "You Never..." is its own song. When ever I listen to these song I just start with "Sun King," but I know the radio usually plays the version you have posted. @Gerellz6496 It's Paul McCartney on the bass, of course it's awesome
rjciccone 6 months ago 5
@rjciccone I meant that the bass is loud, and yes Paul McCartney is the King of the Bass rumours say George played bass on this song though.
Gerellz6496 6 months ago
@rjciccone I meant the bass is much more powerful on vinyl =D
Gerellz6496 6 months ago 3
@Gerellz6496 that's what I thought! Bass on vinyl has more of a punch than on CD and surely MP3, almost all of the time.

Hearing vinyl again, even on a fclip is great and sooooo superior to crap CD or digital downloaded compressed rubbish,
Instead opf raising the bar as we've "progressed" the bar just keeps getting lower ..in everything..and we just except it as the norm.
Fuck that for a game of soldiers
