If you ever see a baby deer alone like this, don't assume that it's been orphaned.

I might get shit from saying this, but personally, I endorse chatting it up with animals. They can measure emotions, and it's easier to find out intention. An injured animal is more likely to accept help if the person talks softly and clearly has good intentions when they approach slowly, than to someone who just sneaks up. They'll take you as a threat and flee otherwise. But they're very responsive when you chat to them. My pets like to verbalize back. c: Cyute deer by the way!
