I have an Optimus System 719 Extended Bass system that has 2 Optimus speakers that have a 15" woofer 6" mid range and 3 inch bullet tweeter. It's my baby!
I dig your Yamaha system and speakers, but ditch the car speakers. 3 way car speakers = no cross overs = crappy sound. you might get lots of power out of them, but you'll always get better sound out of real speakers.
@goandy89 yep but I have another thing to add to what that guy said, car speakers are rated at 4ohms or less house one's at 6ohms or more, if you put 4 or less on a house stereo you can seriously fuck it up, my moms stupid boyfriend had two car subs hooked up as replace ments for the sansui's he blew and it's fucked it up so bad if I'm not careful while working on it (I.E. shutting all power OFF) I could get shocked just by plugging the speakers into it.
Okay so who never saw Travis Pastrana's Youtube video, he jumps down the Grand Canyon on his Dirt Bike so how long can he listen to the bike for? Didn't make a Hog's foot of a difference to Travis but we worked out that for 115dB, 1 watt and 1 meter, he can listen for just 30 seconds before his long term hearing goes the way of the motor cycle, on reaching the bottom of the cliff! Home Movie Receivers often have low distortion and high power, it never hurts your ears, JUST CAN'T TALK OVER IT!
Yea, but they are 6*9 coaxial car speakers and bookshelfs. To get those numbers, you'd have bridge your amp, sprinkle some voodoo, and pray. Those shitty speakers couldn't handle those watts without blowing. Think about it. Look at huge Cerwin Vegas or Polks. They push huge sound, and are rated at 250, maybe 300RMS.
ok let me explain this ok the 3way triaxial 6x9 are rated at 300 rms and 600 peak each. the 6.25 are 200 rms and 400 peak each. and the 8 inch woofers are 200 rms and 400 peak. i have them hooked up to my yamaha rx-v1000. which also drives my utahs power unknown. and as for the rest of my speaker they are being driven by my yamaha m-80. which is capable of over 900 watts per channel. i had it test it will hold a steady 450-500 watts with burstes of 995 watts per channel.
my yamaha ns-9191 are 150rms 250 peak technics sb-g920 are 380 watts music technics sb-a30 are 150 rms 200 peak technics sb-a521 are 260 watts music pioneer cs-803 are 125 nominal and 250 max input. my rca 40-5017 are 150 rms and 200 peak.
at 1 watt 1 meter it is 115 db which extreamly effiecent. at 6-10 watts it is almost un bearably loud. i can hold rock concerts at 16-20 watts. any thing over 20 watts is just crazy loud. you cant even be in the room. most of the time i am only pushing about 0.06-1 watt so even though i have the capably of extream power levels and also with the handeling of the speakers. but i doubt that my speakers will ever see full power.
goandy89 says it all when he says he ain't goanna turn that volume right up cause it can hurt his ears -Yeah! That's due to distortion, the more pain you get the louder it's 'goandy89-sound' and the more distortion, your ears 'goandy89-sing' like a kettle after, so's he listens for just around 8-9 seconds before switching off and screams in a bottle like Porky Pig then corks it, takes it out in the yard and let's the scream out of the bottle! The-The-That's all Folks! Yuk-yuk but cool lookers!
nope no distorion. sorry good guess though. it is just i am 118 db at 1 watt @ 1 meter. and the db get high very fast and the pressure levels are crazy.
what are you talking about. if you are talking about the power handeling of my customs. the right and left speakers are rated to handel 1000 watts at 4 ohms. the center stereo sub it rated to handel 800 watts at 4 ohms. i built them and bought the drivers.
Those technics and Yamaha speakers look awesome!

One thousand car watts. Those would only handle about 60 watts.
