do you have a schematic for this? does it take a microcontroller? i've been searching the internet for this but all of them use lego mindstorm kits and i don't want to buy one.
it operates on extremely simple ideas and circuit. When the switches at the front are triggered, two capacitors are charged, which switches a two relays causing both the motors driving each wheel go in reverse until the capacitors discharges enough, in which case the motors then goes forward again. What causes it to turn is the different times for the capacitors to discharge. This time constant is varied by changing the resistance of the RC circuit. I can try find the schematic for you as well.
i just thought about that!!! i drew up a schematic that causes the car to activate a set of 8 transistors when it hits a well, two npn, two pnp, and a resistor to get it to turn a little, but capacitors correctly placed could do the job really easily. though i don't know how i could do this without the transistors.

That's what this "robot" was meant to do

i've been digging into robotics and i can't seem to find out how to do this without a microcontroller!
