William Kristol is the son of Irving Kristol, the acknowledged founder of the entire Neoconservative movement. From what I've seen, that leadership position has passed to William, rather than an older member of the Neocon leadership. William likes using talkshows to promote his views, and is very good at just that, actually. Revealing inside information occasionally gets him those invites. Don Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfoweitz, and Richard Pearle are all Neocon members, and all are now gone.
like it or not he has served longer and at the behest of the country...he did what he was told to do...keep pointing fingers...there is one to blame, the one we as a country, voted for...
on basing your opinion, mabey you should leave out the fat part, which is irrelivent to your opinion and lowers peoples respect for your opinion. LMAO
Will someone please tell me what 'win' means in Iraq. Until a specific aim of the mission is defined the whole argument is moot. It was never defined and thus there was no way to plan for a 'win'. This was no mission to be accomplished, it was designed to be a war without end.
exactly! that's what i think! and even if there was a definition of "win" i think it's quite impossible to do that in iraq, let's just take it for what it is...a quagmire
I don't believe that's the question to be considered... WE LOST A LONG TIME AGO. The question we need to consider now is, how many more people will die, how much more of our resources will we squander, before we do the right thing, what a large majority of Iraqis want us to do, leave?
I think Billy Crystal is right. Win or get out. If we can't win, we're wasting time and lives there. I'd almost in support of a draft to get the thing over with.
I just think Bill Kristol is the sharpest mind amongst the top neocons. That, coupled with his access to the top people, makes any of his predictions something to watch for.
Billy Crystal also lost his watch up a cow's ass in the 1991 blockbuster "City Slickers." While there's no DIRECT foreshadowing to the state of our nation in 2006, the current social climate sorta feels like that. No?

vier: I say this only as a technical statement, and not anything else. We cannot know whether it is winnable or not at the moment because we do not know the effect of, e.g., 800,000 more troops, translators, trainers, etc. over there. At some point, you could conceivably have so many people there, no one could move a muscle without being seen. A tipping point, if you will.
Oh dear!! Why cant the journalists do their jobs and then we would not have to asks these silly questions. If you people dont know what is really going on then god help us all.

But to ansewer your question, I don't think he's the "Grim Reapor", but he's definitly good at guessing, and one more thing, Happy Thanksgiving.
pure coincidence, no evidence whatsoever for your premise.

Michael Moore is a fat, one sided, manipulative opportunist.

Iraq is just a game, so we can win it! Yay! We can win the game!
Christ. The only thing we're winning is international disapproval.

They don't want to win. They just want us to quit investigating their hidden lives and if that mean placing every citizen under house arrest...

Fascinating commentary. Somehow I had missed that Rumsfeld was the last of the original cabinet members remaining under this administration.
Cristal certainly seems plugged in to what's passing for thought among neocons.
I don't think "win" is even possible. We can "suppress," but the moment we stop "supressing," the lid will come back off.

...indeed, in an effort to go for that win,
now they're talking about maybe an extra
push with twenty thousand more troops to
stabilize irak... i suppose those troops
are like billy crystal's watch, 'cause they'll
have to pull them out of someone's ass...
jazzonice 5 years ago
jazzonice,
"Where do we get the troops?" is a question that every person who suggests escalation should immediately have to answer
The 20,000 wont do it and even they were hard to find
Does Rep Charles Rangel have the answer?
Thx 4 commenting :-)

Not really - they haven't defined what winning is, and anyway, it is blatantly obvious that by any definition, it is unwinnable.
