I love the "old-style-pianists" so much more than most of the pianists of our time. No vanity in their music, just pure soul. Vazsonyi has become one of my favourite pianists with this recording.
Wonderful!!! We should be be very greatful to this great musician , not only because of he was the biographer of his master Ernö Dohnányi, but also because of he was clearly a messenger of Dohnányi's spirit, having been his last pupil.
Un parfait joyau . L'oeuvre est absolument magnifique et l'interprétation de Vazsonyi atteint la perfection pas sa justesse de toucher et sa sincérité musicale.
Even after a few notes I felt this was a rare pianist. I must admit I never heard of him before, even though I am a professional pianist, and I wonder why he is not more known. What he is doing in this recording is piano playing of a very high order. Not because of remarkable speed or anything else technical. Vazsonyi goes far beyond technique. This music *is* technically difficult, but I never realized it until afterwards. I only heard one thing. Every note radiates humanity.
Please read his book "America's Thirty Year War"

Do you mean the score? No, unfortunately not anymore. But you can rent the score in any library of conservatories. That's what I did, too.

@AnnMarry19 - The score, along with thousands of others, is available for free at the Internet Music Score Library Project.

Thanks Richard! former student. I recall hearing his recording on Pye of the Brahms variations. Such poetry!
Such character lies behind such music making...this is NOT MERELY fine piano playing as people frequently state.
This is a personal statement full of personal integrity that FEW humans dare to live!
Here's to Balint and the great human being he is!
Thank you Balint!
