Need some help here... Maybe someone had this problem on his ScreenPlay Director. After the original installed Harddisk crashed, i installed a new one and updated it etc..ever since then when i turn it on. it is very slow in loading the movies.. can anyone advise please.. thanks

I'm wanting to get a Multimedia External Hard Drive to watch and listen to my Videos and Music on TV - but one im looking for is of course a 1TB HDD, one that will be easy to import stuff from PC or Memory Stick to the HDD and also be able to create/read folders (like you got an entire TV series and also want to keep organise)

Is this any good and meets the requirements?

I have had this for two years pretty sick of it now...so many files it wont play claiming to have bad containers when they are perfectly fine...and it crashes more than it should and its startup time it awful 5 mins just to get to the main menu

i tried playing MKV. file but it showed a message saying audio codec not supported? what should i do? and is there a way of connecting this wirelessly?

I am unable to play the subtitles. its also showing only off. Where do I add the subtitles? I have just copied the .srt files along with the movie in my external hard drive.

I have owned this device for almost a year now & it is the best media player i have ever owned.I have played movies in HD QUALITY & it looks & sounds awesome.The thing i like most about it is i can put all my music collection on it & take it anywhere.They also sell external hard drives that you could add to this one.Needless to say i love everything about this device

Did you try if it can play back files from a portable hard drive? Because I have the Screenplay Pro, and it didn't power a portable hard drive. Can you tell me if it changed for the Director edition? Did you try it anyway?

I just want to know if it can power a portable drive unlike the Pro edition

please help!! i have loads of avi files which are cluttering my computer and i'd like to store them in one of these things and then watch them on tv. is it possible with one of these or the others of this iomega brand? for example the one called "screenplay plus hd player 1 tb"?

@0casteloencantado0 of course, but the director edition supports more formats and can be connected to the network. It can also serve as a torrent server.

Althought, at the CES last week in Vegas, Iomega announced the Screenplay DX which is much better than the director, and has a full qwerty keyboard....so if its not that urgent, I'd wait 'till february when it becames available

While the movies are playing on theTV - Press menu on the Iomega and in th setting turn Subtitles on.

I bought this model a month back. So far I am enjoying it. There are a few things to watch out for, though:

1. The media player connects to computers just fine with the provided USB cable. The thing to watch out for is that "no other USB device must be connected to the computer when attempting to connect the media player". This is mentioned in the manual but I didn't take this very seriously.

2. If you want subtitles with movies, make sure to burn an entire ISO file and copy the ISO.

@mearly012 hi.. i too face the same problem with my screenplay director.. have you found the solution yet? also when i play HD movies, plays only video but no sound.. think player doesnt support DTS audio which is most common in HD videos... can someone help me on these?

Hi, I received the exact same product as a gift and I love it but I do have a problem. Can you explain why I cannot see some of my files which are all downloaded in "Avi". You can hear them but cannot see them. It is driving me crazy trying to sort this out. Any input will be welcomed. Thanks

@maria240365 Sounds like a codec problem, are you sure they are not some funny format in an AVI holder. I might be talking rubbish here, but this unit can be fussy sometimes about file formats.

Cannot play most of mkv also have sound problems. subtitles not works correctly
