I don't believe in right or wrong, I don't believe in choices, I don't believe free will, its all luck. You either have badluck or goodluck & I believe you have rights or limited rights. I believe in limited rights, for example I feel like anyone has a right to do whatever they please, but if they do something that pisses them off I believe the person who violates them deserves to be killed off. I think revenge is a good thing if the victim no longer has much to live for.
I think i would rather be locked in these kinds of prisons and slowly slip into insanity than be locked away in our American prisons and rapidly be raped and shanked.
@300daysandnights would you rather spend your years in a prison where you can get out, have a walk see the sun and eat better and have a bed and a toilet, or would you rather rot in a dungeon with no view for the sky and the floor would be your bed?
@anchEYes@ghamdi070 I would rather be in this prison because you're alone. once you lose your sanity, it's cake. I'd rather be depressed and alone than sodomized. I feel like suicide would be easier here too.
@300daysandnights you only get buttfucked if you're in a high security prison and weigh like 110 lbs rofl it's such a stereotype saying that you get raped in prison.. you can get raped anywhere
And seeing as Marseilles is surrounded by geological layers and stone from the early cretacious, the bottom layers and thus the rocks of the island of If of which the top layers of cretacious sediments have been eroded, are Jurassic layers. Which means limestone. Which is a very fragile and brittle sediment. They could get aprroximatly 1,300km per year. In other words, they would've been free within the month. But i see how Dumas would need some reason for 13 years of d'If.
He's interpreting Newton's third law wrongly though. It is a misnomer, one could put it. The action-reaction does not happen after each other. It happens at the same time. Anyone who has seen this in physics class shall know this.

I once watched tv on a boring saturday. And on it was an old old film about rome. It was like gladiator. No. It was gladiator. word for word, scene for scene. And in that one, the real one, Richard doesnt play Aurelius. (which is too bad)

@Shmoofles This passage is from The incredible marquis by Herbert Gorman entitled the soldier of fortune(chapter six) It was natural that Dumas believed implicitly in the magic of somnambulism, in animal magnetism and in chiromancy. @gulfmen86 yeah i know and somebody might not new that mercedes is a girl name and the guy that made mercedes he named after her doughter. or grand doughter dont remember..... this movie is the BESt
@redshark618 the book goes into depth regarding that. Just shows how condensed and, overall, different the movie is from the book. Terrific film, though. Love it.
Let me preface this by saying I like this movie a lot. But as I watched it tonight i couldnt help but think that this would be an easy dungeon to escape from. It helps the plot by having edmund educated in literature and weapons. But i mean when the guy who distributes the food sees the priest is dead, he opens the door and comes in alone and unarmed. the priest cuts his hair with some type of sharp tool... why not fake death and kill the fucker and escape? there seems to be 3 guards total
@nbramsey1 I agree. It seems like it is ridiculously easy to get the guy to open the door. When their plates weren't presented when it was time, the guy immediately opened the door and came in to see what was up. Two trained men could have easily taken him.
@nbramsey1: In the book things are different. More importantly, in the book Faria specifically addresses this the first time Edmond meets him. The thought of injuring or killing a fellow human being dishonorably like that weighs far too more heavily on his conscience as a heinous abomination against the laws of Providence (ie: God).
And he makes Edmond swear to neither suggest such a thing nor attempt it himself.

@MrMacGamer technically no, because if you think about it, the characters are supposed to be french so we're supposed to imagine that they are speaking french in which case if you're french listening to french you would not hear the accent, so it makes sense for english people to hear them speaking with english accents, otherwise it'd just sound like french people speaking english. not sure if i explained myself well there, i hope you understand what i mean :)
(1 of 2)Wow, the legendary actor Richard Harris in an obscure but remarkable role. He was an Irish actor, singer/songwriter, theatrical producer, film director and writer. He's probably best known for his role as King Arthur in the the 1967 movie Camelot. He played Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies made in 2001 and 2002.
(2 of 2)I read he didn't want to take the role of Dumbledore because his health was in decline but did so because his 10 year old grandaughter threatened to never speak to him again. He also had a top ten record hit in Britain and the U.S. in 1968 with his recording of the Jimmy Webb song "MacArthur Park." Rest In Peace Richard.
My question is, why couldnt they just dug through the side of the cell, where his window was. It would have been a few feet, then they could have just waited till dark and jumped off
It really pisses me off that everyone calls this guy Dumbledore because of the role he did in the two Harry Potter films. It's like a huge slap in the face to such a great actor.
@seriall1337 its not a slap in the face because he is a brilliant actor in harry potter which is a forever growing phenomena which he would have been proud to be a part of. Harry potter stars legendary actors like Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman Gary Oldman and Richard Harris it is no insult to his name.
@seriall1337 Silly question. Many people have difficulty remembering names, some people forget the names of people they just met, do you expect people to remember the names of people (actors) they haven't met? And lets face it, while Richard Harris is a legend he wasn't overexposed in the same way other actors are. People are going to associate him with a face that they recognize most. Dumbledore is one of those faces.
anyone who thinks this is a great movie has never read the book. To call this The Count of Monte Cristo is a travesty. There are so many inaccuracies I lost count.This may be loosely based on the book using the same character names and such but this is definately not true to the book.

@seriall1337
No, not really. You need to lighten up and stop creating idols. ^_^

@HumanStrategy yes really. And he's not my idol.

@seriall1337
Isn't that Dumbledore from Harry Potter?
19996669991 1 year ago
@seriall1337 its not a slap in the face because he is a brilliant actor in harry potter which is a forever growing phenomena which he would have been proud to be a part of. Harry potter stars legendary actors like Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman Gary Oldman and Richard Harris it is no insult to his name.
fredst02 1 year ago
@fredst02 The slap in the face is that people look at him as the character, not the real him. But nevermind, I don't care anymore. :)

is the guy abbe faria or richard harris the guy who plays dumbledore from harry potter?
DemonGurl25 1 year ago
Why does everyone call him Dumbledore the character? His name is Richard Harris!
seriall1337 1 year ago
@seriall1337 Silly question. Many people have difficulty remembering names, some people forget the names of people they just met, do you expect people to remember the names of people (actors) they haven't met? And lets face it, while Richard Harris is a legend he wasn't overexposed in the same way other actors are. People are going to associate him with a face that they recognize most. Dumbledore is one of those faces.
