@djsebex You know what YOU are? You are selfish! I've done nothing but sacrifice to get us here. All you've been doing is bossing me around. Well who's the boss now? Huh? Who is it? It's me.
@MysteryNebula01 maybe it means "This is apeture science: a human did this." Because it does seem kind of unbelievable that all that happened because of ONE person.
Wheatley: There she is...what a work she was, and you know who put her down? You'll never believe this. A human! Thats right. A human put her down and no one has ever heard from him/her ever again...
What a nasty piece of work she was, honestly, like a proper maniac. Y'know who ended up purgin her, y'know, taking her down in the end? You're not going to believe this: A human! I know, I wouldn't have believed it either. Apparently this, er, human escaped and no one's seen him since...
Mannnnnn. Great. Portal was always my favorite game. But when you immerse yourself in Portal 2... It really is emotionally weird, because you care so much for these voices from the robots. It really is unlike any storytelling experience you can have - in any media. Anyways, yes this is the new #1 for me.
@halffullglassful Portal offered you to be attached to the simplest things, whilst Portal 2 offered much more. Portal shows that the chambers are not just plain and white, but have a dark side of everything. Portal 2 shows more of why it's dark and how corrupt the entire facility is, no matter how hard they try to fix it.
When Wheatly said "we have to go through HER chamber" when this tune kicked in, it was quite a tense moment. And when I saw the remains of GlaDos when the bass really kicked in, bricks were shat.
@lyonsrobbie999 Sure, sometimes. I guess sometimes I favour the opposite though; absolutes. It's more satisfying. But great to hear that there is dynamic. Co-existence among conflict is the way ^_^!
@tarkinfish True enough. When I said dynamic, I meant it in the sense that it's more listenable outside of gameplay, as their are more prominent tunes, as opposed to creepy background noises. Not dissing on Portals (that is, the the first ones) soundtrack at all.
I've heard some hate for Portal 2's soundtrack, and for the life of me, I can't imagine why. The first game had an excellent soundtrack when it tried, but it mostly was just ambient noises. Fine for a game, but not really listenable outside of it. The second game's sountrack is more...dynamic, shall we say?
@lyonsrobbie999 definetly dynamic when you include the musical bits from lasers, contact with different gels, light bridges, and the blue tractor beam things.
He was the guy behind the sound and music for both Half Life and Portal, he inexplicedly left Valve before Portal 2 shipped and notably isn't credited for any of it's music which means it wasn't his.
Portal 2's soundtrack isn't bad at all, by it's own merits it's fantastic, but Kelly Baily had a way with music and ambient sound (which can be more important than music) that people miss.
@Jahkaivah Atleast we Have Jonathan Coulton.Although Half Life And Portal Music Had a Much Different Feeling,One i always loved. It made me feel Wierd,Msyterious,Creepy,Alot of emotions into one.
@darrinstampe just play the game and really pay attention to it, youll see. theres a crazy ai thats killed everybody in the facility, and is trying to kill you. theres the hiding and resting places of several test subjects before you telling you how evil glados is.
@darrinstampe Yeah...in one part of the game, you actually pass by the science projects the girls brought with them...99% of which were potatoe batteries.
@lyonsrobbie999 9000 degrees kelvin was a good techno but these make good music but they are still not as deep or as emersive because its made to be listened to subconsciously
@lyonsrobbie999 OMG this is the best soundtrack I've ever ever ever ever ever fucking heard, anyone who hates on this I do not understand fucking at all, and they are considered insane.
I though this soundtrack was the intense next to the I AM NOT A MORON! soundtrack.
