  • I'm getting a Lenovo IdeaCenter tomorrow! So excited!

  • bioexcess crashed my laptop now it wont turn on and it isnt even a month old.

  • Garbage

  • This is the " future of laptop security " ???? hahahahahaha!!!!! I got a picture of my DOG as my "future laptop security". EVEN if it does work years from now, I just steal you pc take the hd out connect it to my 1tb hd pc and run my data recovery and pull everything off your hd!!!

  • 1. I can log into my brother's lenovo

    2. Fingerprint is still more percise

  • my names eric lol

  • I bought a lenovo laptop... awesome laptop, this program is a piece of shit. It tries to put some cyborg iron man eyepiece around your eye to try and make it look cool when it should be trying to recognize your face, because I have sat there for 5 minutes waiting for it to scan my face but it never does...terrible program

  • @Doopeydude mine does the same thing

  • i just got my lenovo and wanted to set this up but when it was "scanning my face" for the program i sat there for about 5 minutes and it wasn't finished, wtf?

  • Just use the owners facebook profile picture you dont even have to be their friend xD

All you need to know is their name and have a mobile phone which can access facebook...

So basically its as simple as setting your full name as your password and putting a post it note on the laptop letting people know that your password is your full name...

  • it works perfect for me

  • Can this also be used in lieu of typing in passwords on websites?

  • Just one question: how to get rid of it from my notebook without formatting my HDD?!

  • Can't even distinguish me from my identical twin brother! WTF?!

  • @manuelmurante1984 you can turn on a setting that stops that but it makes you have to move your head from side to side and change your facial expression, thats if you are that fussy about the security

  • @Sonnyp1993 And who, who would take the time to use this feature, would not be "fussy about security"?

  • Tested this software. Yup, I can say how great the logic of the face recognition is. It can distinguish me from my twin! Veriface verified! Though, I agree that it does have a lot to do on the enhancement department.

  • how do u delete your picture cause i did that i dont want it anymore

    can someone help my?

  • If I shave my beard?

    just joking (:

  • @z7abib77z you can update the picture

  • My mother just bought me a new lenovo laptop two days ago it's 2011 model its very good and its good for watching videos on youtube and mine has 320 giga bytes in the hard drive and has 4gb memory ram and it also has the veriface scan but I don't know how to use it yet

  • @MajorState i have the same one. tried to use veriface and it was scanning my face around 20 minutes. so i just gave up

  • Never buy a "face reconigtion" computer. It need be a 100% accurate tecnology and i think its not , yet

  • and if u get fat?

  • hi ive just got this laptop and my web cam image is upside down!??????

    ,what is going on!!

,ok ,yes it is second hand, but I was not thinking this could happen

    did the last owner

take it apart and install the cam upside down, help!!!!!!,sj.

  • Ok guys...the trick with this kind of security, is to never use it alone! Instead of using facial recognition as a standalone security, you should use it in conjunction with the fingerprint reader and the password! In this way, You dramatically enhance the security to a point, that it becomes possible for the machine, to make the mistake of thinking that you are not you! I personally use similar face recognition, fingerprint scanners, smart card readers, disc checks, and passwords.

  • What if the owner is sleeping !!!!

  • Fingerprint scanners are the best!

  • @psptechnologypsp

If the owner is sleeping !!!! put the owners finger in the finger recognition and boooom

  • I'll never worry about getting my password discovered by somebody...at least on my laptop :)

  • too much variable... computer now still have the intelligence of a retarded cockaroach (michio kaku). i do not want to put faith in that yet. what if i have glasses? what if i had plastic surgury? what if i had an evil twin? like i said, junk.

  • what if i cut off the owners head and aim it at the cam?

    useless....

  • Comment removed

  • What if i hold the owners head up to the camera?!

    useless...

  • what if you're a twin

  • You could make a funny face that only you would know how to make.

  • but can some one just take a pics of u

  • from where can i download it? email me at spider_batman@live.com

  • @haidernawaz99 if you have a lenovo laptop, you can google your laptop fullname, like so : lenovo ideapad u450p drivers

  • You could just take a photo of your brother or whatever and put it to the camera .....

easier to break into than a password

  • well if someone does use a pic u will always be able to see who it was that held the pic atleast.still sketchy i dunno if ill do it

  • what happens if you get your hair cut?

  • @haloudude97 lol its not head recognition its face racognition

  • @haloudude97 LOL it doesnt matter, all u need to have is ur face,so dont lose it =P

  • rofl you can just print hes face ona paper and pwn the "unbeaten password"...

  • I TRIED THAT ON MY COMPUTER DOSENT WORK

  • @ThatGlatorian1 I tried it on my lenovo laptop, and it works like a charm ;)

  • if you turn the security setting to low then a pic will do fine, but on the higher settings you'd need a VERY carefully constructed image. It would take longer to make a high quality image than use a rescue tool to reset the password, so don't flame it too much.

  • @shadeseven7 any decent digicam would take a photo capable of bypassing the high setting

  • I made a picture with my cellphone and it held before the camera. Windows has logged me. Big Bullshit!!!

  • @tubusandi @manuelmurante1984 dont talk about something unless you know what your talking about,if the owner is smart enough,he will activate an option called ''real time detection'' and when you enable it,you have to move your head and change your face expressions, like smiling and stuff, and then NO ONE CAN GET INTO UR ACCOUNT,unless its really you ;)

  • @tubusandi There are two levels of security, OBVIOUSLY you did not set the LIVE cam setting enabled

  • Ok. What if I want to use my computer at night and for whatever reason I don't have enough light to the software to recognise my face? k thx bai

  • @Radiobuzz then u better have s*x with ur girl at night

  • Try out KeyLemon... Windows Login based on face recognition. It is free to try and 20 USD. At least, don't need to buy a computer.

  • i have this on my compaq presario laptop

  • what if i use a photograph of the owner!?

    useless

  • ive tried tht dumbass. it knows its a pic, the pic doesnt hav tht 3d look to it. the people who make this arnt dumb like u. how about u try crap and know what your talking about BEFORE u run your mouth :)

  • wow ur a total asshole. he was just suggesting an idea. people like you dont gain respect. btw a camera cannot tell the difference between a photo and a person because it has only one camera, which does not have depth perception. if you had only one eye, you could not tell the difference too. so yes a picture can be used to fool it. so you shut your pie hole and get your facts straight before you answer any question. also putting a smiley at the end of your reply makes you look like a 7 year old.

  • Yeah for sure. Wow laughingcheese your a beast :) <----- (you know I'm not seven)

  • omg stalker gtfo steven.

  • LOL - that's really funny and true

  • @manuelmurante1984 dont talk about something unless you know what your talking about,if the owner is smart enough,he will activate an option called ''real time detection'' and when you enable it,you have to move your head and change your face expressions, like smiling and stuff, and then NO ONE CAN GET INTO UR ACCOUNT,unless its really you ;)

  • @manuelmurante1984 ive tried your theory ,,, it doesn't work ,,,,,,,,,,myth buster

  • @manuelmurante1984 It also has live detection, which the person u scamed did not have activated. In that case u need to move your head, and no picture will work ;)

  • @manuelmurante1984 it was made for convenience, not security. they're much smarter than that.

  • @manuelmurante1984 I wonder if they can do it for penis instead of face, because I'm sure no one will have a picture of my penis!

  • @manuelmurante1984 According to me the aim is if your Pc is stolen. So the person can't loggin

  • @manuelmurante1984 Then the owner is stupid...

  • @manuelmurante1984 it has a feature that you have to move if your worried about that

  • @manuelmurante1984 the new version has Live detection which requires you to change your facial expression and tilt your head a bit, this kills the picture vulnerability

  • Don't get excided, it's a piece of poop. I had to get rid of veriface from my G530 laptop. Things wrong with it.

    A) Requires good lighting, won't work in the dark.

    B) 1.3M PIXEL BisonChicony cam used on lenovo is a cheap POS. Often times when coming out of stand by or even starting up, it won't initialize.

    C) It will unlock your laptop even if you are not trying to login and just walking by.

Good on paper, HORRIBLE in practise, take my word for it.

  • is there any way to get it on a mac plese send me a personal message to my acount if you find anything thankyou

  • mine wont let me register anything, all it does is sit there looking at it, not registering

  • so putting a picture of the person in front of the screen WON'T work?

    haha flaw found

  • Won't bother me non, I don't have any photos of me laying around. LOL

  • no, putting up a picture will not work. Haha, not so lucky.

  • no, putting a picture up wont work. i tried. :-/

  • You are absolutely 100% correct fmabr. It's not even a software, I consider it garbageware. It came with my laptop, I removed it and don't miss it.

  • If you hold a picture up, it wouldn't register it.

It analyzes depth and structure of the face. A shave won't do anything to hinder your log-on, no will cutting your hair.

And if, 6 years down the line, it doesnt recognize your face, just reenroll another scan of your face. not difficult.

  • It doesn't work. I tried it!

  • How does it register depth with no "stereo" visual on a CMOS sensor?

  • Thank God, I thought I was the only one wondering this.

  • Oh ya, kicks ass... I hope nobody has a picture of you handy. I took a picture of myself on my cell phone and held it up to the camera... it let me in.

Fun toy but nearly useless for security.

  • nope you can set it for live detection so you'll have to shake your head for it to be recognized.

I think no one will have your face shaking clip to play it for the cam, lol xD

  • whats the software called?

  • I have Lenovo computer, but after I reinstalled vista, Veriface has gone... :(

I downloaded a new one, but I think that, the one I had before is the latest version which isn't out yet =/

  • Hey where can i download this software.......

  • check ur inbox

  • could you tell me too :)

  • You can download it in lenovo's website. But however, it your PC is not lenovo, it will say something like your PC is not a product from lenovo, setup must be determined.

  • hey can i get a link too???plzzzz

  • Yes, you can have this software on laptops that are not Lenovo, I have it on my computer right now, Its a Dell Inspiron 1525.

  • Does anyone have a review on the Lenovo IPAD Y530 (40516AU)

  • anyone knows if I can install this software on other-than-Lenovo laptop?

  • Nope. It's trademarked by Lenovo.

  • yes, u can use it any other laptops too.....am using this in my acer 5630z

  • hey what if u get a hair cut and get a earing or what if he gets a clean shave after a year will it work

  • A matter of time and you will get an eye cancer. It is unsafe and not practical at all. By the way, if you show (someone's) face to your PC, the PC might throw a shoe at you loool

  • What does that shit even mean?

  • okay, its not a retina scanner, so i wouldnt worry about eye cancer, and what the hells with the PC throwing a shoe at you?

  • your such an idiot!

u cant get eye cancer from a webcam u derk! shut up and dont write stupid shizz!

  • greattt another gimmick. add this to the touchscreen desktop. how is this better than a password now?

  • what happened if I show a picture?

    MMmmm...

  • pictures have been proven not to work. unless you can show a video showing u folled it. there other videos on youtube showing people tryn to trick it with a picture and failed.

  • how do i get it ?

  • Veriface is AWFUL. It took an annoyingly long time to verify me, and log me in. Also, if it can't log you in, it will sometimes just log you in to a generic user account. Complete waste of time. (It's not the hard-drive, because the computer is a total virgin.)

The second I unchecked the face verification choice in the settings tab, the unsuccessful verifications, followed by generic log-ons, stopped.

And, who always logs on in perfect lighting?

And if you don't, veriface won't work.

  • I have VeriFace, it sometimes gets annoying when you tells you to sit up straight or "improve lighting" anyways, I only have version 1.0, I hope the rest are smarter.

  • What if I hold up a physical picture of the person who owns the computer at the camera assuming I stole it from someone I know and have their photo? Just a case scenario I would like to know.

  • its still recognizez becuase of parts of realistic faces and color that cannot be high definition enough in a photo.

  • LOL!!! Does veriface scan your face successfully after 50 years?

  • i bet it wont

  • LOL!!! Does veriface scan your face successfully after 50 years?

  • whens the last time you had a computer for more than 3 years

  • not gonna lie, super cool, but... idk, kind of unnecessary. I mean, I WOULD like it, but I'm just a little paranoid- like... suppose it breaks (maybe my webcam breaks). Can you (or someone else) enter your password manually?

Because, I hate to admit it, but if that were the case, I'd be sold.

  • yes you can enter a password manually...so no problem about that! :) you can change the settings. the veriface just makes it easier for you to log in to your computer...when you make multiple accounts, you can enroll a different face for every account...and when you log in...it'll recognize which account it'll log you into -- pretty kewl!

  • yes you can enter a password manually... i have the lenovo y410...and i use the low security settings on veriface and it has the option of logging you in by your face or by manually by password :)

  • Ahh cool, I was just having flashbacks to ED-209...even though that was before my time xD

And lastly...after you're logged in, does it run in the background? 'cus I know vista itself is a system hog, and I'm gonna be doing some intense stuff on my laptop, so I don't want something else running in the background that doesn't need to be.

  • sowee for the double post ^ ^ ...yeah i guess it runs in the background...coz when you log off, or hibernate your p.c. you have the option of using veriface to log in. with the 2GB RAM installed... i really didn't notice any slowdowns in vista even with it running in the background :) you can install up to 4GB if you like when you've upgraded vista to SP1

  • rockin! Thanks for the clarification =)

  • incredible!!!

  • Holly crap BIG BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is cool

  • Hi Logan.

Will I be able to use Lenovo's Veriface Technology on my Desktop Pc with Windows Vista? If so how can I retrieve it?

  • its an exclusive feature on ideapad notebooks

  • Awesome
