@nelder101 You have to go to the right, then turn around and face the pipe on the right. use your mushroom and jump when you boost to the pipe. You have to land in the pipe on the left or the right to make it. You should land at the end of the tunnel. Turn around and bump into the second knob and then finish the lap as usual.

to me, it loks like he just jumped off, and hit a specific log post that "triggered" the game into believing he went around the whole track

i dont think it has anything to do with the pipe, something everyone else here seems to believe. i believe that as long as he hits the log post it works.

You go on the pipe and when you are about to hit it you do a wheelie. It shoots you straight up and you need to go past the log to make the game think you came from the regular way. Rinse and repeat.

God knows, probably silly oversights by the programmers. Suppose as MKWii is focused a lot more upon movement and jumping in the air these sorts of things are harder to spot in development. No huge glitches came up with Double Dash probably due to the distinctly flat nature of a lot of courses.

To be fair, this isn't the only Mario Kart game to have a glitch like this. Mario Kart 64 had one like this in the Wario Stadium course.
