  • Her slave ancestors had a better life than she did.

  • Emmett Till (RIP) was murdered in Leflore county i believe. Just saying.

  • LMAO @ 3:36 "QUIT JEREMIAH"!!!! and then @ 3:55 "UMMA WHOOP U"!!!

  • Those who are hating the poor people have no idea what is poverty. Born in Bangladesh, I have seen poverty in much deeper and more acute level. Poverty many time are created not off the incapability of the people, but on the failure and whips of the system that never allows poors to get rich.

  • hahaha wow, only if you people knew

  • Don't expect the Obamas to give a stank rats behind about the condition of black folk until election time rolls around.

  • @rss22 damn he's a black man and i expected better but i gotta agree with you on that.

  • @rss22 Here we go again!!! People have been living like this for years and all you can think about is a quick way to smash PRESIDENT Obama. People are hating on Obama because he's black. Bush didn't do a damn thing about it neither. The only thing he did was kill thousands of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, husbands, wives, cousins, and friends. Maybe if we stop bashing our PRESIDENT and fight the fight with him, America would be a better place.

  • @jchb2006 Excuse me, I'm not bassing Mr. Obama because he's black, I'm black also, so his skin tone has nothing to do with why I don't support him. I just don't like that fact that so many black folks voted for him, thinking he was gonna change the current state of black America. Obama will only began to care about the condition of black America when election time rolls around as a way to appeal to the emotions of black sheep who don't keep up with what's really going on. peace

  • @rss22 I didn't say you were white. It's just a fact that so many are BASHING not bassing him because he's black. It is also a fact that he can't change things alone. So many are pulling against him when in fact, if they tried to stand with him, maybe he could change things. It has nothing to do with black America, shit he can't help white America either. It shouldn't be a black America or white America. It's just America right?

  • REAL TALK.....IF UR SO POOR WHY R THERE SATILLITE dishes on some of the house? If Ive missed something plzzzz feel me in!!!!

  • @mysolyn First of all just cause a satellite dish is on a house does not mean that the house has satellite TV. It means at one point in time the house had satellite TV. Secondly, in really rural areas like that often times cable TV is not available so if they get the idea to want TV then satellite is their only option. Thirdly since when did having satellite TV make somebody not poor? They have satellite TV......they are living high on the hog.....yeah right.

  • @mysolyn I live in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Here, the Mississippi delta, and the Indian reservation out west, as well as the Texas border colonista`s are statistically the most impoverished places in America. Yet, around here people have satellite TV. And if you don`t believe they are poor then come over here and hang out for a few days and you will change your mind.

  • @mysolyn Fourthly most extremely poor areas like this also have high unemployment rates and people living on government assistance. Even though fifty dollars a month for satellite is a lot more money to them than it is to you, they are willing to pay it because since they have no job they have nothing else to do but watch TV. By the way, you spelled satellite and fill wrong.

  • The only thing that can really fix this is public schools and jobs with living wages. Everything else is just a temporary patch. Field work is hard work and should make people a decent living wage.

  • That's right. I wanta gather donations and I would be considered up north poor. And I see why my grandpa left at 13. They do need more help dwn south then I need up here.

  • This is a very sad situation!! “Life can either be accepted or changed. If it is not accepted, it must be changed. If it cannot be changed, then it must be accepted.”

  • The government need to come in there and tear these houses down and rebuild. This saddens me to see this. This lady is my age and she's living in these conditions. We need to help ourselves before others are willing to pay. I heard this lady say her husband. Where is he?.... We must want better for ourselves. I am willing to assist you Ms. Harrell. At least she's keeping herself and children appearance up. Keep your head up sister and ask God for strength to move you out.

  • I don't think Ms. Harrell brought this to us to judge & condemn. Those of you who feel that you know the way to solve the problems that exist in these areas should put your money where your mouths are. This is real & the reasons they exist are varied & beyond justification. The circumstances are what they are & just need to be addressed from where they are. Never judge a man, until you've walked a mile in his/her shoes. Be grateful, humble & wise. Thank you A. Harrell

  • seek yahaswai and you will get some answers

  • @VIKILLER2

    yahaswai?

  • It's hard for kid's to understand that the world is bigger than their neighborhood. The reasons for learning seems so abstract if its not taught at home.Sometimes alot of kids don't realize how poor they until they are shown how other people live and education can make this possible.Different methods of teaching have to be introduced and teaching economics about what it cost to survive,at an early might help. Then you begin to know education is power

  • I'm 41 and in college. I didn't choose to have children I couldn't afford. The key word is CHOICE.

  • @coffycakes No such thing as choice that only exists in white society!

  • pick cotton?!?!? I'm shocked that these type of conditions exist in america!

  • Its hot in Mississipi all the time right? I would get a grill and cook outside.

  • Something else very prevalent in the dialect of enslaved peoples. They sound not too different from those of the old south.

  • @SacrificeRecords2 So you've met and heard enslaved people speak.

  • Yes, you can go back to school at 44. There are many people who have done it. Also, she would not be 85 when she graduates. In four years you could either be a graduate or still be uneducated. If I were her I would look into student loans, grants, anything. Community college, vocational or trade schools, are good places to start. Also, I hope she stops threatening her child she is going to 'whup" him. He is just a little boy that is cranky.

  • @pineapple1969 In your psychology classes give Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs a close study. In sum, it states that people will pursue their basic needs( food, shelter clothing, water) before going after things on a higher level like education. Who would want to study while he is starving, thirsty, too hot too cold or don't have the appropriate attire for the weather.

  • @pineapple1969 First it is a little boy...Second college in this economy...lets be honest how many people do we know went to college and are doing the exact opposite of what they went to school for...Personally she would be wasting here time and mind. The American system is not the so called black man's system and never will be. The only option is to move out of this Egypt-Roman ideologist country and establish our own way of living else where.

  • Had to combine my comment, I just told my kiddo's look when it's between GAS for heat OR THAT SATALLITE DISH GUESS WHAT KIDS THE CABLE IS GONE FOR AWHILE. I guess it's all what is important to you, they have more money than I do I guess I had to get rid of my cable because it only made sense. Sat. dish on a house without gas????? That makes ZERO sense and yes that's a cable station in the background plus u see the dish outside?

  • Sameful - each situation and person's history is different as to why they are still in this predicament.

If you keep the slave mentality or unfortnately come to believe you deserve it and its residue you may end up like this too

  • This is my hometown...Webb, MS even though I moved to another city in MS. As a matter of fact, this is right down the street from where I live.

  • this is just sad, what is their government doing with the money?! Hmm, lining their pockets making them richer, while the rest stay poor. Seeing this makes me angry.

  • HE IS NOT HELPING YALL AT ALLLLL!!!!! This is painful. Remnants of slaves.

  • What can you do to help? One thing I would like to request from you is that you forward this youtube video on to others on you email list.

  • yeah, my mom was the first african american mayor of the town of webb, and she tried to send for help. it was just a matter of her not having a board that was on her side or shared her views. if you have any questions, feel free to get at me.

  • @yourstory08 yes forward this....what a beautiful little child. I will forward Mrs Obama.

  • @yourstory08 AMEN! I have always been one to not judge unless I have been there. I know as a first generation american life was hard as hell and the USA did nothing to help. There is no equal opportunities in this country and equality, I am sick of the lies of this country. It disgusts me.
