@narnialover16 - "some of the female singers in the 'Soulful celebration' Choir were wearing very short revealing clothes. I think that it was a bit inappropriate". --- hmm... I understand what you're saying but, I don't know. I think you have to take into account that they are wearing African clothing... They are just wearing what their original custom is.. Just my opinion. But yea, I get what you're saying too. I guess if they wanted to wear that, it could have been more covered up..lol!
lol! Look at Michael Jackson jammin' his head in his seat @ 2:16-2:22...lol
I luv this. Though, I don't know how I feel about the Various Artists coming out from the isles?? I don't know.. I mean, you can kind of see it as a symbolizm of a newer version coming after an older version... but I kinda feel like they make it seem they are saying "white choir move over 'cause we can do it better", which I KNOW they are not saying to themselves..(well, I hope not).
Thanks for posting, this is the 'second' version I'm still looking for the 'first one' with "Quincy Jones" leading the choir on stage, while the white choir is singing.
this was nice.....except for one thing. some of the female singers in the 'Soulful celebration' Choir were wearing very short revealing clothes. I think that it was a bit inappropriate simply because they are singing unto and about the Lord and he deserves ALL reverence and honour and glory. And bringing attention to onself in that way i feel takes away a little from the spirit of praise and reverence that Handel created when this piece was first performed. Other than that, It was fantastic :)
I love the spicing soulful part better, they sound as if they are enjoying and believe what they are singing about. The audience believes that too it seems. I love the part where they all come together as well. I wish all of America would get that revalation, coming together as one; what a beautiful country we would be..
both excellent and whilst Quincy Jones adaptation hasn't been around much ...I'm sure generations to follow will appreciate this as a classic in it's own right!!
"neetrab" shut it up! Anyway both are wonderful versions of the song...doesn't matter how it's sung, but about Who they are singing it to! Love it!!

@narnialover16 I respect your views, but if you believe in God, don't you believe that God created the human body? So why cover it up?
