i just find it so strange how people get wrong so many times
1st not all of those cats are going to multiply with themselves to make more cats
2nd the reason why the SPCA and the shelters are backed up all the time is because of people losing there pets or them getting taken from them due to neglect
& 3rd not every cat in the world is going to want to breed so the chances of the world getting deathly over populated with cats is very slim
just a word of advice don't believe everything you hear
We ALWAYS get our cats spayed and neutered it is so important! I was a LOT younger when we got our cat Lucy spayed and neutered (At the time my mom called it "fixed" because I was a bit too young LoL). I really really REALLY wanted some new kittens and I kept asking my mom, "But mommy why can't we have kittens?" My mom said, "Then we will have kittens until Lucy dies. I thought about a house filled with fur and claws, and Lucy so old. It scared me so much and I agreed with my mom.
work at as a vet assistant...amen to this video. ppl amaze me that refuse to get their cat spayed or neutered....because they feel its "not their place"
Another hillbilly myth you will hear is that "every female dog and cat needs to have one litter for their health" complete BS. Most of our pet overpopulation problem is due to ignorant rednecks and lazy people like the ones here in Utah.
Spay & Neuter - and these people who want to 'experience the miracle of birth' there's plenty of great videos at the library that will illustrate such - without the addition of unwanted cats & dogs.
If they want their children to experience the miracle of birth they should also want their children to experience the consequences of birth. Animals are not toys.
You can never have too many cats.

I want to salute your mother for being so truthful to you! Some parents will agreed with their kids thinking nothing of the consequences.
