Very creative and funny video! ET was a pretty lousy game back in the day. Atari was really lazy and blew it on some of the arcade adaptions they made. Pac Man and Defender were dreadful as well.
It's fairly safe to say that they did not dig up those copies, as the landfill they were supposed to be buried at does not allow people to just walk in and start digging. Not to mention that was 20+ years before this video was made.
But that means they had to go buy that many copies of E.T......
The other mistake in the video is the plot. No one. I mean NO ONE would ever want to dig up thousands of E.T. cartridges and play each and ever one. I would have jumped out the window after one game.
I could try to get you guys in to summerfest 09' in milwaukee, WI Its a pretty nice gig and I bet you could open for a great band. please do a show in the mi serioucly dwest i am your biggest fan
mail me on my youtube if you want more info on summerfest
This video reminds me of why I don't play video games, anymore.

the money these guys spent buying those cartridges was probably more than Atari made from the game when it first came out.....

All the facts shown in this video are real, as is the game. Them actually unearthing the cartridges is probably not real ;)
