i tried it with a scorpio 120gb bevs and it does not work, the xbox can see the hdd but it can't use more than 6 gb on it, after 6gb it just says "can't read disc" whenever i try to copy something on it. it sucks

"bootable usb driver creator" gives a write-protected error on any & every device I have tried to use. Tried every compatability mode & always run as administrator. I'm on Winblows 7 & wanted to know if I could just install dos another way. I know how to manually set the boot prams without this seemingly useless program. Just cant find any actual msdos installers only freedos, dosbox, etc... Think I'll try using a Win98/ME/XP startup disk.

You need WD BEVT models generally but in most laptops you get a seagate or hitachi. At least I have opened. Sometimes you get BEVT.

I had this happen and I changed my "SATA MODE:" to "IDE MODE: it was set to "AHCI MODE" and that fixed my problem... I do not know what the AHCI is but that was my default setting. when I finished with this process i just set it back.

I made my usb bootable, and put the 120gb hddss.bin file as well as the hddhackr.exe on the usb, then i replaced the hardrive and it went straight to MS DOS, I typed in dir to make sure it was there (and it was) then i typed hddhackr, and it did nothing, all it did was put the blinking _ below the line that said hddhackr, PLEASE HELP ME

After struggling all night with the 2007 toshiba, i went on a longshot, got my dell inspiron, loaded the 250gig hard drive from the toshiba, and low and behold! the bios settings were on the Dell that were not on the toshiba.

Oh and by the way people, it took me a while to figure out, you have to rename the flash drive files according to the final prompt. So he forgets to mention that in the video. He must've earlier renamed those files "1.Bin and Backup.Bin" on his computer.

I was using a 2007 toshiba that had a 250 gb hard drive that was so virus infected and slow it was useless. So it is so awesome to save over $100 getting 200 gigs free for my Xbox 360 4gig slim!

Hey I'm running to a problem, I'm using a WD Blue Scorpio WD1600BEVT-22CT0. (160gig SATA HDD) I get to the very end part of the MS-DOS part where it asks to create a partition 0/2/3 I hit "yes" and it gives me a Check status 0x50 - error! I not a tech noob and I followed your tut to the letter but I still get the error. Also the WD HDD only has 148ish gigs of usable space so I'm using a 120gb HDDSS.bin file. @Famous31196 i would suggest to format the hard drive before doing this process. However, you will end up deleting everything from it anyway during the last step once the HDD is in your 360 anyway. look up videos on formatting your HDD if you want to know how to do this.
