look like this stomp box have too much gain to blues,i think it will work even for thrash metal. is not the best for thrash, but i think it will work for thrash.
I bought the Guv'nor after seeing your demo here and I was quite pleased, but I'm looking for something less robust, a little bit more creamy, if that even makes sense LoL.
I believe you have good ears, since the stuff you say, well at least to me, makes a lot of sense.
The Guv'nor does make that weird noise, lol, doesnt bother me much tho.
You prefer this one over others marshall pedals yes ? I'mma give it a try. Peace.
I don't understand why people would bother to leave rude comments about this. Life is too short. I found this useful because I wanted to hear what the pedal sounds like (obviously). Thanks
hey dude thanks for the vid! i got my eye on one of these and its great to see someone show off its versatility who also isnt a dick. found myself cracking up at your self critics ie "that was sh*t"! pretty funny but ur obviously a great player with an ear so thanks!
they arereally sweet with alll valve amps plus they are sub £50 models which, for the quality control of marshall products, is a real bargain. Great for boosting the from end of an amp however more versatile models are available. I believe boss have produced a comparable model.
i generally use a rat through a 62 bluesbreaker combo but for £40 this sounds quite cool i think.. yer each to their own and i know loads of pro's slate this pedal but ive been a pro for 14 years now (since i was 20) and i like it enough to use on a record as well as live.. best pick one up then asap i guess.. it may weigh a little less than a real bluesbreaker also.. as my combo is nicknamed a backbreaker by my tek guy..
Great demo's. Keep it up please, always appreciated! Your playing is fine. Flashy is not always best. Look at Neil Young. I'd take his style anyday over the latest wanker speed demon.Hey JP616 idiot! Put an aluminum garbage can over your head and throw yourself down a large steep flight of metal stairs you twat! How are we going to know whats happenning in the demo if the guy doesn't speak. DUH!!
And 4.5 Stars no less? Maybe.. just maybe.. everyone else isn't hung up on the guitar playing and realises the videos are to demonstrate the sound of the actual pedal.
I'm looking for a Duane Allman sound and I'm thinking of the Gun'nor 2, the Bluesbreaker 2, or the BBE Green Screamer. A lot of people are saying the BB2 does not work well with humbuckers? Any advice?
I think it depends what amp your using, Duane i think used mainly Marshall 50w heads, with no pedals as far as i can tell. I've got a Marshall DSL50 and i'm trying to find a pedal to boost the crunch channel at medium volumes. What i would suggest is trying a Blackstar HT Boost...these sound really nice as they're run by a valve, which is usefull, especially in trying to find a decent slide tone! Tom
Boss MT2's are harsh and fizzy, not crunchy at all.
True "crunch" is achievable by turning up a tube amp so the power tubes start to break up.
And, the bluesbreaker does a good job emulating it. I was very surprised. I just got it in yesterday.
The MT2 uses dual gain stages, and the whole pedal clips your signal in gross ways. Because of all the transistor clipping and that stuff, the MT2 just doesn't sound good.
The only "metal" pedal I actually liked was the EHX Metal muff.
any one know if with this pedal i can boost an already distorted sound without adding any gain or tone? because i already have an amazing sounding set up... i just want to find something that can boost my solos volume.
if this doesnt do that can anyone recomend something that would do that?
good stuff mate, i'm thinking of getting one of these pedals and this has definately given it thumbs up in my book.
one question though, how well does the pedal work when Boosting a clean tone? You didn't seem to test that out, instead opting for a clean to bluesy sound. :P
Hi, If you are looking for an stevie Ray Vaughan tone you can try this one or the tube screamer TS-8, he used the tube screamer, I think the blues breaker is better because it has more features.
The original Bluesbreaker BB-1, or if you can find one, the Zendrive actually does an incredible SRV tone. Zendrive being a Dumble-esque pedal...SRV used a dumble recording Texas Flood.
Thanks for test of this effect, dude :). I had been thinking about choice between Boss Blues Driver and this Marschall. I've tested Blues Driver in music shop, but in my opinion, it doesn't have much optional drive configuration. Tone is ok, but this effect won't give me moree strong overdrive than BB II.
Now, I know I will buy this pedal, like your friend did.
Niiiice!
For a cheap $40-$60 pedal, sounds like It can compete with my dream OD, the MXR M77.

What is this little black box he has with AC/DC on it?..
Whydoyoureadme 3 years ago 2
its so that you dont have to plug all the power supplies into an extension lead, which i think can be dangerous if a socket is overloded with plugs.
thisIStheARTofRUIN 3 years ago
OK, I thought it was something maybe AC/DC (The Band) sells. But its obious it must be for that you said.
