  • Niiiice!

For a cheap $40-$60 pedal, sounds like It can compete with my dream OD, the MXR M77.

  • nice tele but you could describe what u r doing better and how to adjust it and make it a bit more of a review

    :) no seriously, nice tele

  • look at my video Marshall Bluesbreaker 2 BB2 vs Marshall AMP overdrive

  • Nice Demo!

  • Nice rich sound , also i like your telecaster, great demo thanks.

  • Nice rich sound , also i like your telecaster, great demo thanks.

  • look like this stomp box have too much gain to blues,i think it will work even for thrash metal. is not the best for thrash, but i think it will work for thrash.

  • Your videos are great. I respect anyone who takes the time to make recordings like this. Keep em coming mate!

  • Don't take it personal as it is just my opinion, but I really disliked your video.

    Feedback given.

  • I was expecting you to use the Wah pedal too. Nice video

  • how much does this pedal cost? and what is the marshallspeaker cabinet you're using by the way? nice video, thumbs up

  • @futurerockstar09

    59€ in germany

  • how much does this pedal cost?

  • Good review, none of this 10 minute intro and talking like in other vids! Plus Back In Black is the shit

  • ha 1:53

  • You're the best mate.

People miss the point in your videos.

I bought the Guv'nor after seeing your demo here and I was quite pleased, but I'm looking for something less robust, a little bit more creamy, if that even makes sense LoL.

I believe you have good ears, since the stuff you say, well at least to me, makes a lot of sense.

The Guv'nor does make that weird noise, lol, doesnt bother me much tho.

You prefer this one over others marshall pedals yes ? I'mma give it a try. Peace.

  • it is a little bit ironic that you play alot of acdc and look at your adapter^^

  • I don't understand why people would bother to leave rude comments about this. Life is too short. I found this useful because I wanted to hear what the pedal sounds like (obviously). Thanks

  • nice video bro. thans for this, im gonna buy it one of this day.

  • Dude, I like your demos!

Down to earth, no bullshit - keep going!

  • good demo man, thank you for actually showing sounds of the pedal instead of trying to show off the whole time.

  • hey dude thanks for the vid! i got my eye on one of these and its great to see someone show off its versatility who also isnt a dick. found myself cracking up at your self critics ie "that was sh*t"! pretty funny but ur obviously a great player with an ear so thanks!

  • nice demo dude :-) makes me want to think on buying one of these

  • they arereally sweet with alll valve amps plus they are sub £50 models which, for the quality control of marshall products, is a real bargain. Great for boosting the from end of an amp however more versatile models are available. I believe boss have produced a comparable model.

  • how you put the controls to play back in black??

  • i generally use a rat through a 62 bluesbreaker combo but for £40 this sounds quite cool i think.. yer each to their own and i know loads of pro's slate this pedal but ive been a pro for 14 years now (since i was 20) and i like it enough to use on a record as well as live.. best pick one up then asap i guess.. it may weigh a little less than a real bluesbreaker also.. as my combo is nicknamed a backbreaker by my tek guy..

  • I think that's the best sounding pedal from Marshall. It sounds like Plexi. Great demo Mike.

  • got it 2day =D also i have the exact same geetar as u baja tele ftw!

  • Great demo's. Keep it up please, always appreciated! Your playing is fine. Flashy is not always best. Look at Neil Young. I'd take his style anyday over the latest wanker speed demon.Hey JP616 idiot! Put an aluminum garbage can over your head and throw yourself down a large steep flight of metal stairs you twat! How are we going to know whats happenning in the demo if the guy doesn't speak. DUH!!

  • Ironic. I wish you would shut the hell up too.

  • hahahahahaha.

  • I like your pedal reviews man, no bullshit, and straight to the point.

    Cheers,

  • this or the proco rat? what do you guys think?

  • rat

  • proco rat all the way

  • I was talking about stratoman01, who is one of those people who slate everyones videos with no videos uploaded to his name.

I should have been more clear on my abuse. haha

  • HA worst rendition ever!! the bluesbreaker sounds good man that's what really matters

  • ha ha screw the other guys i liked it really want this pedal

  • got it 2day =D

  • And 4.5 Stars no less? Maybe.. just maybe.. everyone else isn't hung up on the guitar playing and realises the videos are to demonstrate the sound of the actual pedal.

    Muppet.

  • @mikelivesley

I agree entirely, its to demonstrate the pedals sound, dont listen to them retards

  • Comment removed

  • Well done. You've completely missed the point. The demos are demoing the GEAR, not my SHRED SKILLS.

  • STFU, you dont have any videos to show for yourself.

  • yeah how do you think it sounds with humbuckers?

  • what's that you're playing from 2:30?

  • purple haze

  • I'm looking for a Duane Allman sound and I'm thinking of the Gun'nor 2, the Bluesbreaker 2, or the BBE Green Screamer. A lot of people are saying the BB2 does not work well with humbuckers? Any advice?

  • Hey,

I think it depends what amp your using, Duane i think used mainly Marshall 50w heads, with no pedals as far as i can tell. I've got a Marshall DSL50 and i'm trying to find a pedal to boost the crunch channel at medium volumes. What i would suggest is trying a Blackstar HT Boost...these sound really nice as they're run by a valve, which is usefull, especially in trying to find a decent slide tone! Tom

  • What is this little black box he has with AC/DC on it?..

  • its so that you dont have to plug all the power supplies into an extension lead, which i think can be dangerous if a socket is overloded with plugs.

  • OK, I thought it was something maybe AC/DC (The Band) sells. But its obious it must be for that you said.

  • Thank you for all these demoes man.

  • eh, i still prefer the BD-2 Boss or Behringer

  • You prefer a Behringer????

  • OR BD-2! behringer's okay, and pretty cheap. i have a BD-2 now and its epic

  • Oh.

  • Very nice crunch tones!

I'm getting one of these mainly for the boost function, but that blues channel will be useful too.

  • haha u call that crunchy get a boss mt-2

  • >_>

Boss MT2's are harsh and fizzy, not crunchy at all.

True "crunch" is achievable by turning up a tube amp so the power tubes start to break up.

And, the bluesbreaker does a good job emulating it. I was very surprised. I just got it in yesterday.

The MT2 uses dual gain stages, and the whole pedal clips your signal in gross ways. Because of all the transistor clipping and that stuff, the MT2 just doesn't sound good.

The only "metal" pedal I actually liked was the EHX Metal muff.

  • you don't own a tube amp, do you....

  • tiny terror is a tube amp =)

  • I know, I was commenting on the guy that was calling the mt-2 crunchy mang :)

  • any one know if with this pedal i can boost an already distorted sound without adding any gain or tone? because i already have an amazing sounding set up... i just want to find something that can boost my solos volume.

if this doesnt do that can anyone recomend something that would do that?

  • good stuff mate, i'm thinking of getting one of these pedals and this has definately given it thumbs up in my book.

one question though, how well does the pedal work when Boosting a clean tone? You didn't seem to test that out, instead opting for a clean to bluesy sound. :P

  • play something different that is better than back in black

  • How about you Suck My Balls?

  • LOL, Owned.

  • "what did you say?!"

"oh i'm sorry Mr. Garrison, here"

    *gets out speaker*

"How about YOU, suck MY BALLS!"

    hahaha well done

  • thats my favorite AC/DC song, haha

  • @mikelivesley LMAO. this is a good demo, i just purchased this pedal and i really like it. thanx for the demo

  • think Van Halen would sound good with one of these?

  • Most likely not enough gain. It's an overdrive not a distortion.

  • Hi, If you are looking for an stevie Ray Vaughan tone you can try this one or the tube screamer TS-8, he used the tube screamer, I think the blues breaker is better because it has more features.

  • im looking for like a texas blues or stevie ray vaughan sounding pedal what would sound best for that.

  • The original Bluesbreaker BB-1, or if you can find one, the Zendrive actually does an incredible SRV tone. Zendrive being a Dumble-esque pedal...SRV used a dumble recording Texas Flood.

  • I'd say this pedal would be good I play stevie ray nd hendrix on this one in my band I have 2 boss 1s 2 but I pritty much use only this

  • Great video man, I use my BB2 with a fender champion 600 and a Epihone Lucille and I like it. But I get way more overdrive in boost mode...

  • i'm looking for a pedal for playing heavy blues should go for this or the guv'nor?

  • I'm guna help u out here, the Govnor is AWEFUL. But i've heard that the jackhammer is completly different and 1000x better

  • This pedal is awesome. Gives you the Cream- like tone. My favorite blues pedal of them all!

  • look at the lion in the background. also i have the jackhammer and its sweet, i would recommend it.

  • Thanks for test of this effect, dude :). I had been thinking about choice between Boss Blues Driver and this Marschall. I've tested Blues Driver in music shop, but in my opinion, it doesn't have much optional drive configuration. Tone is ok, but this effect won't give me moree strong overdrive than BB II.

Now, I know I will buy this pedal, like your friend did.

    Keep jammin' ! Awesome video.

  • what setting did you use in back in black?

  • I can't recall, but definitely Overdrive mode with Contour all the way off.

  • great pedal, and playing...i'm thinking of getting one myself

  • This was one freakin awsome pedal. One of my friends needed it more than me though, so I sold it to him.

  • I am the founder of The MikeLivesley Fan Club at HCFX.

    Mike roolz.

  • i love how you pass on your mistakes. that's awesome. 5 stars from me

  • Absolutely agree.
