the light is supposed to be yellow for 1 sec. for every 10 mph of posted speed.this light is not set up correctly therefore stopping distance limits exceed given space. in other words if you stand on the brakes and slow down you still run the light, the only difference. now you have to deal with other traffic in the intersection like the vehicle turning from the left side it. is a safety decision EVERY time a light changes to yellow.

A dump truck towing a backhoe is many tons of steel, and that's assuming the truck was empty, if it had a full load, you can add another 5 or more tons. That kind of weight doesn't just stop and the yellow light was pretty short. There was no way that driver could have stopped. If he had tried, he would have endangered lives.

This is because the light changes so fast and due to the weight of the Vehicle, the Driver CAN NOT push on the break and must continue. Because if he/she does Press the break the Tractor and Trailer may Jack Knife due to the momentum of the 2 Vehicles and can Kill some one or Destroy Property. This is where Skills and Experience come into play. A rookie may have caused a accident..

Didnt actually run the redlight he was about 200 feet away when the light turned yellow. Not enough time to safely stop the truck. Only thing he shouldve done was tap the air horn two or three times just to wake up day dreaming drivers that dont pay attention.

When a Truck Driver is moving in a situation like that, there is a point of driving called (The No Return Point). This is because the light changes so fast and due to the weight of the Vehicle, the Driver CAN NOT push on the break and must continue. Because if he/she does Press the break the Tractor and Trailer may Jack Knife due to the momentum of the 2 Vehicles and can Kill some one or Destroy Property. This is where Skills and Experience come into play. A rookie may have caused a accident..

Hmmmmm, undivided highway and the truck is already at the stop line when the light changes. Not really running a red. Would be a lot better to set up at a left turn light and film cars going 15 mph continuing through even after the light has been red for three seconds.
