@Auestyn bestvideodownloader, it is a firefox ad on but works on other search engines, can download: music, pictures, and full videos in a variety of forms from youtube, easy to use and free

@Fullmetal5131 youtube-dl python script is the best, it works on all platforms and you can script it on linux with a shell script to download all the videos on certain webpages, then strip out the video, leaving only the audio.

although the audio quality sucks on youtube anyway. its been transcoded to mp3, then transcoded again when you upload it. really i only listen to flac, and just use youtube to find stuff i like before getting it.
