I was so looking forward to this rawr when I got this on DVD, put my 1000watt 7.1 surround sound on full blast waiting for the rawr and... It was CRAP! Wtf, seriously?! a t-Rex from Jurassic park has a better rawr! There's no bass or rumble to it whatsoever when watching it on surround sound. Not pleased. Wanted some full on shaking the house with bass, lion/godzilla/kingkong/trex ultimate roar put into one, scare the hell outa the neighbours/neighbourhood with the roar, but nope. just got this

Oh wow... that is such a mess of CGI! The crap-acting in this scene really shows that they were looking at nothing.

The original Kraken was scary because it looked like it was really there... because it was a physical object (ie. a practical effect) manipulated by the god of stop-motion.

Harryhausen's artistry will always win over this CGI crap.
