Regardless of content of video (which I do like), I really like the style. There's definitely a Wong Kar Wai/East Asian feel to it, but at the same time, the flashback shots has an American-Indie feel to it. So props on the composition and color textures!
the drama continues on this video=D it will all be over by 2morro, top 10 or not ill continue to work on my craft, thanks for the love and the hate, you cant one w/out the other..goodluck to all the teams
Actually i didnt because in regards to him helping her...she looked like she pooosibly helped herself...then that line that you mention means nothing and is confusing.
i say possibly because....i live with someone who has cancer....and that scene can easily be mistaken for them taking their daily pills ...and yes when on chemotherapy, you can still take red wine. ..... very confusing in regards to the implication of suicide...murder...or whatever is actually going on.
mavasque is right...why would you smoke next to THE ONE if they are dying from cancer???? i'm a heavy smoker and i would never do that to anyone dying of cancer much less to the one I LOVE....i did like the video in the beginning because its beautifully shot but negative criticism or not....its the truth..u fail to understand the severity of that issue.....looks like you only put it in there for artistic appeal... good job on the k-drama man.
mavenmalakye & mavasque, I think you guys are missing the plot point. She said "Will you help me?" He says "Yes, I'll help you." A few shots later close ups on pill bottle, she takes pills. Sleeping pills I believe. Then they kiss and lay down, he looks lost... I believe she committed suicide and he supported her.
I guess you posted your work expecting everyone would love your work and leave only positive comment. I'm afraid the world of film making (or anything in real life for that matter) is not so kind and considerate. I'm not sure if my comment will be counted as a 'vote' but I can remove it. However, I have to say your work needs a lot more work. a LOT more.
its cool man, i only been shooting for a year, i didnt go to film school i taught myself everything from the camera to fcp, everyone has their opinion, if your so great please put up work i would love to see it, if not your just a average audience member...
When you make and release a film, it is not for another film maker, but for general audience. It's good that you entered your work along with others who may have more experience either through work or schooling. This is a good, very hard, but good opportunity to get feedback on your work. And good feedback often is not in the form of flattery. and, by the way, I am a film critic, so I have no work to put up. I wish you good luck.
thanks ukizzmyazz, shots are fired cause of fear as the award is coming closer, i didnt choose to be the 1st video on the 72hourfilmshootout,but i am blessed, no body can take away my happiness, there are plenty of people who like this film as much as people hate it, but people talk bout it, there's buzz, any publicity is good publicity, both profile w/the negative comments were recently created to make me look bad (dust off the shoulders) in the end do what you love and fuck everything else
Guess she committed suicide? The music is repetitive but, it has some heart, which is more than I can say about most shorts. Heart sells.
No need for the snobbery, itthoughtitclassic. These guys will probably go on to be "working" filmmakers while most will be posting shorts on Youtube to try to impress friends and get laid.
From the beginning this reminded me of those "I have genital herpes, and I don't" commercials. And when she said "Steve, I haven't been completely honest with you..." I was waiting to hear "I have genital herpes." I can only justify the one star rating for the musical accompaniment and the quality of the shots. This is one predictable corn of cheese after another. These people should not be writing films. They should be working for drug and insurance companies to con us into buying crap.
