I could picture this song at the beginning of the movie with Katniss and Prim before the reaping. Prim is so innocent and yet she gets picked for the Games after Katniss tries to reassure her. But I couldn't picture this, like AT ALL for the cave scene....

Definately not the cave scene, the song gives the feel of genuinely caring for someone, and the only person Katniss truly cares about (in the first book at least) is her sister, who she sees a lot of in Rue. The 12th District where Katniss is from(the main character in The Hunger Games) is located in what we would now call Appalachia. The pairing of The Civil Wars and Taylor Swift is just an amazing fit. I wish it was a bit less Taylor(never thought I'd say that) and a bit more of The Civil Wars. They are an amazing up and coming talent. The feel and theme of the song fit everything I could want. LOVE IT!

I can just picture it in such clarity. Katniss will stop singing the lullaby, the cannon will sound. She will stand and “Safe and Sound” begins playing as Katniss collects flowers and begins coating Rue in them. It might even flash to District 11 as Rue’s mother and father break down into tears.

i love this song at first it was so-so but then i heard it and it goes great with hunger games. I think this song is perfect for the cave when katniss tries to covice peeta to let her go to the feast and peeta says" dont leave me alone" and then see puts him asleep" just cloes your eyes" "and you'll be all right" peeta got better and she made sure no one can hurt him " no one can hurt you now" i thnk its a great song and i LOVE it now and its perfect for the whole trilogy

The 12th District where Katniss is from(the main character in The Hunger Games) is located in what we would now call Appalachia. The pairing of The Civil Wars and Taylor Swift is just an amazing fit. I wish it was a bit less Taylor(never thought I'd say that) and a bit more of The Civil Wars. They are an amazing up and coming talent. The feel and theme of the song fit everything I could want. LOVE IT!

at first i thought this song was so-so. i didnt thnk it had anythng to do with the hunger games.but now i LOVE it. i can picture this song when katniss and peeta are in the cave. I think this song is perfect throughtout the whole trolgy not just the hunger games. I love katniss and peeta and i hope the movie cachtes the greatness of the book.

I can just picture it in such clarity. Katniss will stop singing the lullaby, the cannon will sound. She will stand and “Safe and Sound” begins playing as Katniss collects flowers and begins coating Rue in them. It might even flash to District 11 as Rue’s mother and father break down into tears.

I don't think Taylor Swift did anything bad. In fact, she & The Civil Wars created something so incredible and emotionally PERFECT for the cave scene. Where she's about to leave Peeta for the feast to get the medicine to save his life. If you listen to the lyrics... 'I remember you said don't leave me here alone'... Right before she leaves the cave. Taylor Swift with her romanticism and soft and safe voice, The Civil Wars with their emotional and kind of dark tune to fit the feeling of it all,

does anyone else thing this would be PERFECT for the cave scene? I mean it fits so perfectly there. it still has the haunting fear of death that the Hunger Games promises yet it has the caring undertones of wanting to save someones life. Really I think that might be the only place it fits... but still!

I think they should've let Joy sing the lead vocals. She'd have done better at grasping that haunted feeling. Taylor is just too sweet sounding for the mood, but still a great collab!
