Man this part is so wonderful and this is one of my favorites too. I still love this part and the song is pretty catchy too. However, although there was a version over at Florida, it was NOWHERE as near as awesome as the one in California (you can tell why they closed that one and replaced it with Pooh). I had this movie on VHS and somehow it got lost. I have been trying to replace it for years. Does anyone know where I can find this EXACT version on VHS or DVD? or if... the orig verson THE ADVENTURES OF ICABOD AND MR. TOAD 1949 is it. because the one I had was titled 'THE WIND AND THE WILLOW" but I thought the release date was in 82 and I have yet to find it. I bought other versions and always returned them. The "Wind in the WIllows" is the Mr. Toad segment. It was seperated from Ichabod and aired seperately. The combined version has extra footage that was cut out when it was seperated. Just get the DVD.

This is the movie summary, not the book. J. Thaddeus Toad is a rich, friendly yet very impulsive character suffering from various manias(obscessions). In his latest mania for motorcars, he trades his valuable estate (Toad Hall) to a crime boss (Mr. Winky) for an, unknownst to him, stolen motorcar. Toad is arrested for being in possession of the car and is brought to court. Toad brings Mr. Winky to testify, though toad does not know Mr. winky is a criminal.

Winky testifies that toad tried to sell him the stolen car and toad is placed in jail. Toad is then broken out of jail by the horse, Ceril and proceeds to steal the deed to his estate, with the help of his friends Badger, Moley,and Rat, from Winky and his gang of weasels. They succeed in retrieving the deed after a climactic confrontation with Winky and the weasels. Toad recalims Toad Hall and Winky and his gang are jailed. As the movie closes, Toad has found a new mania with airplanes.

I never understood the "Hell" reference in the ride. It doesn't show up in the movie that I recall. (Ride made my kid scream! Not in the good; "I'm having fun being scared." way either!)

I noticed that too. And I just saw the movie for the first time. Because in the movie, he drives away on a train. In the ride, he gets hit by one. And then he goes to hell. There is no mention of that in the movie. So, you're not the only one.

In the ride at Disneyland, I believe that the story is supposed a dream of Mr. Toad's about the motorcar. It definitely isn't meant to be a retelling of the movie- the classic dark rides didn't do that- but I don't know if the "dream/nightmare" theory is still on the table officially since it's redesign.

It's the kind of sensemake that doesn't make sense. :-)
