@balla32636 $63K? An every-option raptor only stickers MSRP around $51K. Either they are marking them up with a dealer "market adjustment" (which is a joke in this economy) or you're exagerating a bit. I was offered $3K off the MSRP when they were brand new so a markup now seems unlikely.
@balla32636 As long as you're not someone with an ax to grind with that dealership, I have no reason not to believe ya. Thats a shame. A great chance to get a great truck on the road & visible in public for a somewhat reasonable price and you got a dealership marking it up $12k. They did this with the Challenger SRT8 up here in the northeast the last couple years and the cars went NOWHERE. They ended sitting and later being discounted. Too bad when the manufacturers could use some sales numbers.
@twinturbo1995 for the first time, perhaps ever, I'm going to leave the engine stock. It's already pretty damn loud, it sets off car alarms on narrow streets, but not loud enough that you have to speak up over it. I already have a silly loud car, my Corvette, and for a daily driver I don't want to have to yell over the engine to have a conversation. Plus, we're using it as a camera vehicle, and trying to film with it while it's making all kinds of noise isn't helpful at all.
I guess its a cool truck but I'm not a ford fan so I wouldn't buy one. I'm gonna wait for the GMC Canyon's replacement. It'll be cheap, small, and very customizable. I'll drop in a small block crate motor, 30 in. tires, and of course, some high tech and very capable fox racing shocks. That'll be my crew cab toy.

@MrKulCars kept the corvette. never selling it. my last daily driver was my Suzuki SV650 motorcycle, but before that, I had a 2006 John Cooper Works Mini
The Raptor is probably the best truck ever, but it seems kind of big for off-road fun. They should make a Ranger Raptor (and I still want that diesel!)
@gerfall I got a 6 year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty with all included maintenance, for everything on the car except tires. At least if it breaks during the course of my abuse, I won't be the one paying to fix it.

We film off-road quite often, and the Raptor upgrade is only $3,000 more than the equivalent Ford F-150 pickup (the best selling vehicle in the US right now), and an option that's well worth the money. I work from home, so I don't have a commute. I only put about 5,000 miles per year on my personal vehicles, and that will use less overall gas than if I had a 20 mile commute every day in a 4-cylinder car.
