i cought a rat in my house with a icecrem bucket. a 1 gallon one. rats are easy to catch once you remove there out there trapped. unfortunate hes right you pretty much have to destroy the poor thing.they will return if you release them outside. its not something you relly wana do if you care for anything living like m. i shot it with my 22 to give it a quick death..

pretty gruesome what i did to a rat onetime..What i did was a grabbed him while he was attacking a bird on a feeder (Considering I Like birds) I Grabbed him and I stuffed a firecracker in his throat and lit it...I threw the rodent and it exploded.. of course the dynamite was a 1/4 stick so it was instant death.
oh! WE thought we had one...thank goodness no! They can jump up to 6 feet horizontal, can drop 50 feet without being hurt, start multiplying in 2-3 months with litters of 8 or more! Gotta get 'em when you can! :)
if you feed wild birds with a free bird feeder food why cant you let the wild rat eat some of this free food too? cuz i know if i put a bird feeder out it would attract the squirrels in this area and that would be one of 2 reasons for me to put a bird feeder out...feeding both animals...theyre more entertaining than birds too...smarter
If you're gonna kill it, don't drown it or set it on fire! Shoot it in the head with a suitably powered air gun and give it a painless death. It saves time and effort, and also keeps your conscience clean!
Typically they are released but it will depend on the state of the animal, the local conditions, etc. You won't want to be relocating sick or otherwise unhealthy animals and you certainly don't want to be placing them in close proximity to where they could cause another problem.
rattus rattus the black rat is actually a better looking rat and is rarer much rarer than the common brown rat which is larger and smaller ears but a longer blunted muzzle,

Rats are not people. Homeless people are unfortunate and, at times, annoying. They are not, however, vermin. Rats are nuisances at the best of times and destructive, disease-carrying pests at the worst of times. They can get you sick, destroy your property, and, as if this isn't enough, they can chew wires that cause a fire that burns your house down. This isn't the sort of rat people keep as pets.
