  • I just realized that I argue with my wife exactly like Larry argues with everyone.

  • 04:44 is hilarious, the way that guy stares at Larry picking up his sandwich. Larry David is a genius in comedy.

  • "Mind if I start?" That was the best!

  • Best two dudes ever.

  • lol this all sounds like episode 3 of extras

  • @chickensdontclap147 season 2

  • what the douche is in that bowl? mushrooms? balls of wood? extra lumpy hummous?

  • The bit around 7:41 is so funny and so true. You forget about it and they're having a nice time having dinner and you get a little adrenaline rush and it's like aw, shit.

  • if i'd get famous i'd probably act like Larry, just hug everybody, give everyone high five on the street!

  • What's so great about Curb is you see a predicament set up and it's so strange and painfully awkward that you're absolutely certain it was based on something that actually happened.

  • I love Larry's smile

  • That's me! I'm the puts who couldn't get the girl! Woot!

  • I'd pay to see Larry David do Elvis

  • Larry David would play George Washington perfectly.. It must be done.

  • Larry's story at 6:30 about trying to duck out of an invite was exactly like the last episode of Curb. Too funny...

  • Think it's time for Gervais to come on Curb.

    Long overdue?

  • @tjbayliss Your wish is granted. He is going to appear at some stage on the series that is currently airing. I just checked, he will appear in the episode on the 14th of this month as himself.

  • @Raskolnikov32 This Sunday.

  • @tjbayliss this season he would help. curb was weak besides the palistinian episode.

  • @robertk2007 Well, he was on this week's episode, but it sucked.

    Ricky Gervais wasted ;(

Palestinian one has been the only memorable one so far.

  • Gervais' example of an interview reminds of of James Lipton (I was flipping through channels)

  • Who would like to see Larry David meet Karl Pilkington?

  • @dlever24 hahahahhhahaha

  • that would be some funny shit right there

  • @dlever24 IT would be a meeting of minds, they could even compare hairlines

  • @dlever24 In a way, Karl is like Larry the character.

  • @dlever24 Oh my god, that would be AWESOME:)

  • Its nice to see Larry out of character, engaged in simple conversation.

  • LD's laugh is fucking class

  • humour is identification; I detect a lot of respect and goodwill between these folk because they are true to themselves(I think)

  • For all you future interviewers out there. Larry and Ricky are giving some pretty good tips on how to be a good interviewer.

  • @ChameleonLost88 I totally agree. They are giving some pretty good tips. Prettyyy, prettyyy, pretty good!

  • as much as i love gervais, ld is is another league of comedians.

  • LD shits funny even when he sleeps

  • that man didnt merit a stop and chat" lmao LD and his own rules. he shits funny

  • i laughed so fucking much, love larry david and love gervais, great "interview"! (don't know what else to call it)

  • 7:20 spoken like a true INTP

  • @Monkeyboy92037: Nope. I just think Gervais is funny but has a bloated ego so he can't hold his own in front of legends like Larry David. But u mate have much BIGGER issues than his.lol.

  • @killerwhale123 Ricky says at the beginning that Larry David is one of his heroes and during the interview he says things like "i've come from nowhere" etc. He's not insecure, he's just in awe of his hero and knows his place. Doesn't take away from either of thier comedy genius

  • easy rule there. If it's cold you should wait. I it hot you eat right away.........

  • 5:43 LOL

  • That sofa looks so comfortable! Larry, where can I buy one ?

  • Gervais is unusually insecure here...

  • @killerwhale123 he's meeting one of his heroes!

  • @killerwhale123 U gay?

  • see new personality 2/ or gospel group prepares for next step / or god's Blessings on face book

  • this is an incredible interview

  • "Imagine if they HATED you and you were famous!"

My condolences to the lead singer of Nickelback at this point =[

  • @ET253 BaH! ha ha!

  • @ET253 and cher loyd and justin bieber

  • @ET253 I never comment on comments, as I find it to be a little lame, but your comment deserves more than a simple click on the thumb up. Great comedy, but I'm not giving you a thumb up as I feel this is covering that part of the deal.

  • Yeah, they're totally right about the under 30 thing and being funny. Also, when they described the rude and out of touch "interviewers" they deal with, it basically describes Larry King!

  • we need karl pilkington, larry and gervais doing something

  • 'So few people under 30 are funny' It's not like ricky gervais to talk absolute bullshit.

  • @purplenurps

Huh? It's not bullshit. Go watch some clips of young Louis CK doing stand-up. He's pretty much my favorite stand-up act now, but even he used to suck early on. To be *truly* funny you need the wisdom, experience and observations of life that come with age, I think.

  • @peterukk Look at seth rogen, he was like 23 in knocked and he was pretty funny in that film. I could name a lot of people who were funny when they're under 30. E.g. Stephen merchant.

  • @purplenurps

Seth rogen has never been funny, LOL. wow..

  • @AlbinoGhandi Well looking at all the critical praise from other comedians and a load of people enjoying his comedy, i'm pretty sure he's funny.

  • Haha, Larry picks up the sandwich, such a jackass.

  • David Brent

  • Look at the rapport between these guys! It's golden! WHY HAVENT THEY DONE ANYTHING TOGETHER YET????

  • at 4:40

the perfect line would be "it's not like sex"

  • We love you cause you make us laugh, idiots!!!!!!

  • i love these guys , kinda showbiz punks :P

  • if this were a series, i would watch it. love these guys.

  • 7.38 Thumbs up if you get that feeling too when something is on your mind.

  • THIS IS GENIUS MATERIAL. RICKY GERVAIS AND LARRY DAVID COULD INTERVIEW EACH OTHER FOR 1 HR ON HBO FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES AND BE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN ANY SHOW IN HISTORY!

  • It's like 2 interviews in 1.

  • I have a bit more respect for Gervais after seeing this. Larry David is just the king though.

  • Both geniuses, love them both so much, but I gotta say I think Larry beats Ricky just a tad because of David's humble demeanor. Ricky knows he is famous and loves every second of it whereas Larry comes off as just this regular funny guy that you'd wanna sit down and talk to.

  • Love Ricky but just wish he would not laugh like a Macaw - it is not natural and overdone.

  • I didn't know people hated Ricky Gervais so much until I saw all the youtube comments. People will seriously hate everyone these days, especially if they're successful.

  • i´m with ricky on the "we both bump into each other and i´m the only one who apologizes", god, i get so annoyed at rude people!

  • 5:45

    :D

  • Whatever Gervais, no need to be modest now. We all know you FUCKING LOVE being famous.

  • @Reyahwind1 He earned it, you sour cunt.

  • @Reyahwind1 He earned it, you sour c*nt.

  • offer a nibble,lol

  • cool way of meeting your idol then becoming pals..cool....

  • LOL at 5:57 Larry

  • two of the most brilliant comediants of today.

  • Letting the "bad thought" be spoken and play out. Pure genius.

  • I love Larry David and Ricky Gervais but I do think Gervais is getting slightly self-obsessed. I mean, you can tell his heart is in the right place but he seems a bit too fascinated by his own self importance at times.

  • I've got that exact same thing, with being unable to wait for something, just because it's something I have to do. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad, all the same. Just can't be relaxed about it ^.^

  • lol larry blanks ricky at 6:01

  • @twentyletternamesftw No he didn't blank him. Ricky was following on from what he was saying, an interviewer asking a question and then not listening to an answer

  • @purplenurps he asks where did you meet jerry

  • @twentyletternamesftw he wasn't asking him as a serious question, he saying that how interviewers ask questions when they're with him

  • @purplenurps wtf r u talking about

  • @twentyletternamesftw You know you thought RG was actually asking larry a genuine questions but he was using it as an example he was making. Pay attention, you fool.

  • @purplenurps he IS actually asking him a genuine question.

  • @twentyletternamesftw watch from 5:00 then get back to me

  • Rick Gervais's point at 8:21 sounds like a description of Michael McIntyre

  • The thing he said about haing something on your mind and it ruining your life until you have to do that thing.

  • you're all self loathing jews

  • @jimmychels1 Not sure what that means, exactly. I'm Jewish and proud.

  • @Modi43 yes so am i modi. its 1 of the more popular phrases from curb your enthusiasm ;-)

  • This is so damn awesome

  • both clever down to earth funny men = class

  • two poets, dismantling themselves

  • Good interview overall, but it's slightly embarrassing when Gervais uses the word putz.

  • @Thisnameistaken11 you cunt!

  • ur teh cunt m8

  • @Thisnameistaken11 i was just quoting larry from "curb your enthusiasm," silly. i don't really think you're a cunt :)

  • Rick is featuring in an episode of Curb for season 8!

  • Both of my heroes talking to each other...five stars

  • Larry David = Funniest men on TV! A true Genius!

  • 2 comic geniuses finally together

  • Larry should do a curb season where Larry is producing one of Ricky's shows in England. British humor + Ricky + Larry David would equal absolute total win.

  • Larry David is far more Creative than Ricky!!

  • @ngaumatau101 Pointless to compare one to the other. They're both obviously talented in their fields.

  • EPIC!!!!

  • making larry david laugh, that would be one of the best feelings haha

  • I love both of them to a slightly ridiculous degree.

  • I'm surprised they didn't show the clip from extras where andy has dinner with a complete stranger as well.

  • So true... A good interviewer will ask the second question, not just skip to the next question.

  • 8:19 ...yip, I'm so fuckin funny, me!!

  • Haha, 3.48 dilemma... So funny!!

  • Larry's right being on a talk show can really ruin a person's career

  • 8:09

This pretty much sums up why enthusiasm for Dane Cook waned out...

  • @Hurlman418 I was just thinkin that.

  • @Hurlman418 Who?

  • Also the fact that Dane Cook is a shit comedian and an arrogant prick, especially in contrast to geniuses/genii like Larry David and Ricky Gervais.

  • @Hurlman418 Could you elaborate, would love to hear what happened to him :D This is an honest request lol

  • I have the same problem with what he's saying lol, if someonething is on my horizon it will just ruin my next few weeks because it will always be there

  • Ricky talks about comedians doing material on talk shows, but he always tells the same jokes in every interview.

  • Not everyone watches the same interview

  • @Tigarius4 your statement perfectly sums it up. good on ya.

  • Gervy's laugh is so crazy

  • This is brilliant they get on so well.

  • Just watching Larry laughing so much at Ricky's impression of that interviewer... I think that explains fully Gervais' US success.

It's because he's a master of... Body and facial language. Aside from some of his themes being universal and the writing obviously SO good... I think that's a big reason.

Everybody can relate to Gervais when they see one of his characters relate or break down because it's so subtle and REAL. Unlike so many. His face is hilarious.

  • The exact same small things make me angry. Too bad I'm not a brilliant comedian.

  • Just try to express whatever is on your mind at impromptu moments and you will find a niche that pulls laughs from people. No worries mate.

  • These talks between Ricky Gervais and Larry David are pure gold. If any one bothers to listen.

  • "You have to discover when you're inadequate in order to be funny."

    Fucking awesome.

  • its an amazing laugh u tard

  • Certainly The Ricky Gervais show wouldnt be the same with out it! ;D

  • Oh no! He has the most amazing laugh in the world. I could live off of that man's laugh! :o)

  • Larry should have Ricky on Curb one of these days. Next season maybe. These guys are GENIUSES.

  • @evh5150316 he is cant wait

  • @evh5150316 if I'm not mistaking, he'll be in it

  • @evh5150316 He'll be on season 8 next year!

  • @evh5150316 the next series of Curb ricky will feature :~)

  • @evh5150316 ricky is going to be on next season

  • @evh5150316 Ricky Gervais will be on Series 8, he's in the trailer.

  • @evh5150316 you're dream is coming true. Ricky is gonna be on season 8! :D

  • @evh5150316

You probably know this already, but, yes, Ricky is in Curb's next season!

  • @evh5150316

The two of them in the same scene would make my year.

  • @evh5150316 he will actually ;) 8th season

  • @evh5150316

its confirmed that Ricky will be more than one episode as himself in the upcoming season

  • seen a few interviews with larry david on talk shows and it is always awkward.. he quite rightly doesn't suffer fools gladly. Letterman for example has no imagination. I've read a quote where letterman said "all i have to do is put on a tie and sit behind a desk" why do they have these people with absolutely no human approach host talk shows?

  • Actually Larry has been on Letterman and the interviews have been GREAT.

  • Larry is very spry. Or maybe he's not as old as he looks.

  • He's 62

  • @chawk111 He's 62 and he is in amazing for his age or for half his age.

  • Frenchness is not an enthnicity. It's a nationality. I guess my ethnicity is American?

  • Fine you want to be pedantic!

He has Gallic ethnicity, Gallic IS an ethnicity! Ethnic native french origin!

Better for you now? I suppose your goning to be racist to me and say the French ethnic natives dont exist? French have been here for hundreds of years.

Native americans are the ethnic americans. So yes there is an ethnic group for americans- you call them indians!

  • I'm not being pedantic. It's an important distinction--referring to a nationality as an ethnicity points towards nationalism, which is dangerous.

  • he's half english half french

  • Well I don't really think it's right to say he's half-french lmao.

I mean his dad was born in French-Canada but Ricky was born and grew up totally in England... He's English.

  • He's not at all contradicting himself. A conversation is two ppl LISTENING to what the other is saying which they most certainly are here. That's the point.

  • absolutely not! he was getting ready to do an impersonation of what larry was talking about. It perfectly showed their rapport.

  • By doing what?!

  • just look at his body language he wants to get his word in

  • Hilarious.

  • "OK. *Looks away.*"

  • Gervais focuses on empathy in his comedy. like he said his character always has to be the putz so that the audience will feel emotion for him.
