Just watching Larry laughing so much at Ricky's impression of that interviewer... I think that explains fully Gervais' US success.

It's because he's a master of... Body and facial language. Aside from some of his themes being universal and the writing obviously SO good... I think that's a big reason.

Everybody can relate to Gervais when they see one of his characters relate or break down because it's so subtle and REAL. Unlike so many. His face is hilarious.
