i tried tunning my ukulele to E6 and playing that steel guitar solo with a finger slide, but it ended up with a lot of pouting and slamming my first against the bedroom floor.
If I had a hat like his I would definitly take off for him. Junior you sooooooo great on bothe the slide and regular guitar. Thanks for posting this video.
Some guys are too talented for their own good. Think about it, he'll never be inducted into the Country or Rock-n-Roll hall of shame. How said is that. I'm giving him the Ronnie seal of approval. Good is Good. \m/
I found Junior by accident here on youtube. He's awesome! I love the fact he sounds little like Ernest Tubb on this song. I love his style, a throwback to country music from the 50's!!
What many people don't know is that Jr's main music heros were Earnest Tubb and Jimi Hendrix. How wild is that? But you can hear it in this song as in most. And notice the basic equipment on stage. That's the way he travels.
Junior kicks everyone's ass now in country. He's old school. I just bought some of his albums on iTunes! All the other current country singers are "pop.".
i'm glad ure his ex now.....i'm in a similar situation and i still havent found the courage to leave him. run away with ure daughter!!!!!!! stay as farther away from her as u can!!!
I'm not really into country all that much, more like death metal and grind-core but I respect a good guitar player and this guy is great!!! I think he is where John 5 gets his country influences
In Western Canada we have Corb Lund and Texas has Junior Brown. Hope these redneck guys get a lot more air time, sick of Taylor Swift contemporary stuff.
I'm glad to see a young man keep Country in Country Music. I've listened to Country since I was a little boy in the 1930s. I give up until Junior Brown showed up. Keep it going Junior, I love it.
There are at least two guit-steels he plays. Seen him many times and never miss the opportunity to hear him, hard to think he's as under-rated as he is....his sister plays a mean acoustic as well. If you can catch a show within a hundred miles do yourself a favor and go, you won't be dissappointed.
i,ve heard Junior Brown play a few times he surely is under rated thats for sure ,i would like him to play up here in Canada at the Havelock Jamboree for 2011 it would be awsome , maybe play on CMT,i haven,t seen him on there yet ...maybe a letter to his fan club or road manager might help., anybody out there with any ideas , thanks The Phoenix ....

I love me some Junior Brown. My late husband introduced me to him when I was about 26 years old. At first I was like WTF? But then we went to one of his concerts and I was amazed by his fan base. Young, old, tatooed, country folk. Never have I seen such a diverse crowd. It was one of the best times of my life and I have been a fan ever since!! Go Junior.
Very talented, but a bit wild and unfocused solos. Lyrically and vocally weak, but it kinda grows on you. Real country, for sure. I'm sure I'll take heat for that, but what the hell....just my opinion.
@canadianroot Seems to me "wild" is the point, and the song is obviously meant to be silly. If I had $15 to spend on his live show every Sunday here in Austin, I would likely do it. He does'nt play the same solo over and over again. Vocally weak? Maybe you need to be there in person to hear this amazing baritone. This is exactly what it is supposed to be.
I've seen him live a bunch...some of the stuff he plays at the same time he is singing is nearly impossible...I guess not for him. I've also seen him almost get electrocuted at a venue with some ungrounded wiring, and he was just a tad pissed. A true original.
im not a country fan, but I live in Austin and my dad wants to go see him....told me to youtube him.......I'v never seen a country man play the shit out of a guitar like that
@gixxr6FLY look up Brent Mason-"don't try this at home" (with Vince Gill). also...look up Albert Lee "Country Boy". You'll see some SERIOUS pickin' . Junior Brown is a great picker, but he's just the tip of the iceberg.
@liljimr I met Chet Atkins a few yrs back with Tab Benniot. He is a great player, not a very nice person. Or at least he was still tryin to live up to his bad boy image of years gone by. Tab was very decent and a very good player. I told him I was friends with Junior. Tab replied. Junior is so good I dont think he even knows how good he is.

@monte1204 Amen. Country music has been "pussified" since the 80s in large part from the likes of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Taylor Swift etc etc etc.
Can anyone please advise me on where to go to get advice on dealing with the trauma of having been married to a violent sociopath who used to rape me, beat me and molest our children? It still hurts every day.
@Robi2000sBatteredEx Howa bout you stop being the victim and inform the law of these unlawful events? If his behavior is what you say it is...get your video camera...film what he does to you...then go to ONLY A FEMALE attorney or police officer...DO NOT go to a male authority. HE will do what he wants until YOU ONLY put a stop to it.
I am so ashamed. I was once a teen beauty pageant contestant. But that was before I married HIM. That monster Robi. He regularly beat me, abused me and tied me to the radiator and has changed me into a bitter woman.
Oh God, I'm hurting so much. Physically, from the bruises that monster of an ex-husband inflicted on me in our trailer for all those years. And mentally from the endless verbal abuse. And oh, the rapes! Every freakin' night the rapes!
I think it was Robi's necrophilia which finally pushed me over the edge. I wouldn't have minded so much if he hadn't brought the bodies home with him though. That was horrible. It all came to a head one night when he asked if we could have a threesome.
"Women's Aid is the key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. We support a network of over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the US." Ladies, don’t let what happened to me while I was married to that paedophile necrophiliac wife-beating scum Robi also happen to you. Together we can stamp out domestic abuse.
The first time he hit me right across the face because I said I was leaving him. He dragged me into the dept. store and said we are going shopping so stop crying like a baby. He acted like it was nothing and I knew it was wrong but I did as I was told. I was 18 and he was 31. I thought an older man would be better for me but I was wrong!
The hitting became beatings almost every day. Even though I was pregnant, he did not care. He said, "If you were a good girl, I wouldn't have to discipline you so much." I hated hearing that. Be a good girl- that was screwed up, ya' know?
I had my daughter and I thought it would help us but it didn't. It just meant that I was stuck with him. The black eyes and busted lips and bruised body was all I knew and he was taking my heart too. I was no longer living near my parents and I was forbidden to have friends or should I say a life?
Two years later I became pregnant and I was not at all happy with that. But of course I had to stay pregnant. It cooled him down a little and he always said he was sorry. I hated my life and I wanted it to end but I had children whom I loved and I couldn't leave them. That is what keeps me alive. I tried to get help from my dad but he said THAT I MADE MY BED NOW - lay in it!! That hurt so much because I thought daddies were there to help when you needed them most.
He started hitting me some more and I didn't back down. He finally walked away. The days went by and I would get hit because I didn't vacuum first then dust. The house was not clean enough or there was a fork in the sink I would get slapped again. He made excuses to hit me. So I bided my time till I could leave.
Incredible tone! he's a crazy picker! Classic American Country/Western with that sweet all Fender tube & Tele/Slide twang with a touch of chorus & spring reverb, Nice! Junior Rocks, he played with Mitch Mitchell(Jimi Hendrix's band of gypsies original drummer!) A true classic American artist that deserves to be in the country music hall of fame with Cash, Willie, Waylon, Hank Williams, Jr. & IIIrd, & my new favs., Unknown Hinson & Reverend Horton Heat!
Junior invented the particular double neck guitar he is playing.......very few exist. I've listened to Junior and Tanya for "many a year".......quite the character he is!.
@dboyzee1 Want one? I have enough wood to do the whole 8 string and then add a body and tele neck. The steel I'll have to canibalize a Fender, or Carvin straight 8. Fun project for sure. I have a palm paddle hard tail strat, and would love to add a single 8. The ashtray is that hard part to find.

He started hitting me some more and I didn't back down. He finally walked away. The days went by and I would get hit because I didn't vacuum first then dust. The house was not clean enough or there was a fork in the sink I would get slapped again. He made excuses to hit me. So I bided my time till I could leave.

Thank you all for listening and sympathising with my plight :-)
The world needs to know about Robi. He's a dangerous man. And I use the term "man" very loosely. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I will be a strong woman.
The little girl that has been taken away from me will be avenged by
preserving the little girl inside of young women in future generations.
That is what will not only make them go away, but that will bring her back
to me.
I will regain my sanity, my dignity, and ME.

Satchmoeddie 11 months ago
@dboyzee1 junior actually invented it himself, and had it custom made
