Around ten years ago, I bought this trailer in VHS form (with a copy of IGN I think) and it previewed other Konami games such as Zone of the Enders, I've been loving the music ever since.
Grooveraider, you're so lucky.. When I was a kid, I remember reading about this event in a PSM, as the writers did a step by step analysis of this very trailer. I was a humongous Metal Gear fan and I would try to imagine the trailer in motion, and what it was like to experience the trailer at E3 firsthand. Nice!!

This game was by far the lead BS argument from PS2tards against the Dreamcast, which is ironic considering it were the 3D GTA series the ones that sold the most PS2s.
Anyways, all I can remember is wondering how people could believe MGS2 looked so amazing with such blurry textures, while Shemue was almost photo-realistic at the time.
@Shadowlayer I wasn't contributing to the argument all that much really, I was just saying that the game looked amazing for its time and that it has even now aged quite nicely, while Shemue, though good looking at the time, and by all means hasn't aged terribly, doesn't stand up to the quality of MGS2 as a game or graphical medium, I was saying nothing about GTA in any way though I suppose I never specified that, my comment was directed to your comment on MGS2's "Blurry textures".
Blurry textures? Lol, wow, now THAT'S ironic you say that considering you could barely make out what's on the back of Ryo Hazuki's jacket.. actually, shit, I still don't know.
And nobody foresaw the monumental impact GTA3 had on the industry, it was continuously swept under the rug until release and had to take off the old-school way, word of mouth, just like COD4 did which turned the franchise into the juggernaut it is today.
lol its been 8 years ago lol wee in the future going to play mgs rising hope u those guys in the video that we hideo made 5 or six games since mgs2 lol im waiting for mgs rising
@AaronAMM - Metal Gear on the NES was still his game. Its just that Mr. Kojima didn't oversee the NES port of the game . Sure as we learn later - the MSX version was the original and way better. I won't even get into Snake's Revenge ( so awful ). You had to have been living during the time Metal Gear released on the NES in 1987. It was an incredible game despite the shortcomings. America never had anything like to compare Metal Gear to at the time. I still stand by my words in the video ^_^
Ah ok, np, I just like to make sure fans know which game is the real one, you already did so fair enough. Just hate when ppl talk about the old games not really knowing the real deal, like te fact metal gear wasnt even in that damn nes version lol. Anyway fair enough I get your point now. :)
I wish E3 had of been this exciting....

Yeah, dreamcast was a failure. Almost put Sega out of business lol, that's why they didn't make any other console.

@Shadowlayer I've noticed your complete lack of sense, you should get that checked out.

@Immortalbus Wow auch! talk about getting a good argument to a discussion, which you don't have...
GTA3 and VC getting a 2-year exclusivity over the Xbox is what solidified the PS2 and the dominant console, period.
Now go play with your legos kid.
