I thank you all for your informative, albeit sometimes heated, responses to my video. This was a tenth grade history project with two web pages as sources, so I do not guarantee any historical accuracy, I do not intend to misrepresent anyone or anything, past present or future, and I am sorry if you do not like it, but I did get an A on the project and it was enjoyable to make, so I am certainly not sorry I did. Be sure to check out some of my less controversial videos.
there are a lot of mistakes in the description of this clip: first of all, the red shirts fought against not French but true Italian troops fighting for the indipence of their fatherland, the Kingdom of Two Sicilies.
giusto .. VIVA GARIBALDI Viva L'ITALIA
The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was ruled by ITALIAN KINGS and its Armed Forces were composed by ITALIANS not FRENCH... Instead those speacking French were the Piedmontese INVADERS..

Garibaldi is not a HERO,he was only a dirty godless pirate who assaulted the peaceful Kindom of the Two Sicilies which was NOT ruled by the french. Its legitimate Kings were ITALIANS since 1734 all born in Naples and Palermo. After the UNWANTED "unification" of Italy(1860)a bloody civil war broke out.10years of slaughters, entire villages destroyed, thousands of Southeners were killed and great many of them were forced to leave their Country. This was a true colonial war.

The Bourbons of the Two Sicilies were NOT french..They were ITALIANS since 1734 when Charles (who was son of Philip V of Spain and Elisabetta FARNESE) liberated Southern Italy from Austrians..The Royal troops fighting against Garibaldi and the piedmontese invaders were ALL ITALIANS..Within the "red shirts" there were instead a great number of foreigners together with regular soldiers from the piedmontese army who invaded the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies without a declaration of war

Garibaldi was only the servant of the King of Piedmont (vittorio Emanuele II) who was supported by Britain, France and the international freemasonry..There was NO patriotism in what they have done..The TWO SICILIES were a prosperous, rich and civilised Nation..and furthermore was a Catholic Kingdom. In the mid XIX century IT was the 3rd European power and the ONLY TRUE ITALIAN Country in the entire peninsula, extending itself from Abruzzo (central Italy) to Sicily..
