1D can be a big dot if you would like to! The size does not matter as long as you only use one dimension (only the x axis as an example) to describe it (when you set the position for it. 1D is called arry. and 2D is called matrix.

1D = very small dot
2D = a flat object
3D = an object with volume
4D = an object with volume that is animated. The 4th dimension is time ;)
