When I was growing up, my older brother and I would listen to an old LP record of Anna Russell's and just laugh our butts off. Sadly, my brother was killed in a crash in 2003 and I hate that he won't see these videos of Anna !

@Anoush23 There's some truth in that, though it would be more accurate to say that Russians react poorly to parody that comes from NON-Russians because the parody seems to them superficial and based on foreign stereotypes.

If Russell had had better Russian pronunciation in this video, the Russian comments here might be less negative... well, it didn't matter at the time because she her audience wasn't Russians but Westerners who wouldn't notice.

i had the opportunity to see anna russell in concert in albany n.y. around 1980 - just a couple years before her retirement. what an awesome talent and what and intelligent mind!!! there will never be another like her......
