  • I remember watching this on Children's ITV back in the 80s (epsecially when I came home from Pre-School)

  • @Aaronation1984 I remember this too, great cartoon. Whatever happened to Children's telly nowadays, it's shit.

  • "Eran 1, 2 y 3, los famosos mosqueperros..." Spanish version is so great :)

  • The lyrics has nothing to do with the Portuguese version of the song. By the way, this TV serials is American, or spanish?

  • @lboymusic Spanish and Japanese. Have you listened to the intro in Spanish?

  • I was rather disapointed when I learned this series never aired in America....

  • this is a long ass intro for a cartoon. Dont ya think?

  • I used to have this on vinyl as a kid, I remember trying to make up raps to go over the instrumental version.

  • @dopetransmissions quality mate, thats brilliant

  • ray foley brought me here

  • im so happy and sad at the same time seeing this. there were episodes of this that on an emotional level are a match for anything else you will ever see. When he left his village and the kids who bullied him wished him luck before he rode away on Sandy... wowzers. Thats emotional shit that is. I hoped all through the series he would return home to his proud parents, but it never happened. I instead imagine it, and it almost makes me cry. Where has all this time gone. It seems like last week...

  • Ha ha! Cannot express the feelings that swelled up in me just now. I ADORED this show when I was a kid :D, after school cartoons were the BEST!(well saturday morn too hehe)

  • What the... "Kids are pretty corny?" How dare you disrespect kids, Dogtanian! How dare you!

  • There is no person who watched this in the 80's that didn't try and cut up an apple as in 1:22

  • wow thats my childhood right there :)

  • argh i am feel 6 years old again! That`s better! Thanx to bring this up =)

  • This made me read the actual book (books to be precise) !

Honneur et amitié to all !

  • 0:38 the chorus you can hear 'dardacan dardacan!' from the original spanish version

    =)

  • I just want to say that when I was like 10 this show made me get into reading Dumas

I read the three Mousketeers as a child

    :)

  • i used to love this along with penny cayon knightmare etc I am 29

  • yes it was repeated in 90 s i m 19 and i remember watching this in tv , and after i had dartacan in video cassettes

  • I suddenly feel very old at 37....I remember watching this when coming home from school.

    Where did the years go...?

  • Likewise, okcomputer4 !!!!!!!! :-)

  • I'm 25, watched this on TV as a kid, and I feel the same way. I watch this video, and suddenly I feel four years old again, and at my childminders! Wish my life was half as cosy now, lol

  • @okcomputer4

This came from the golden era of cartoons, everyone between the ages of 28/37 actually had the great experience to watch cartoons like Dogtanian, Ulysses 31, Heathcliff, The real Ghostbusters, Wheeled warriors, GI Joe, Galaxy rangers, COPS and many other fantastically cool cartoons...... It's the cartoons of today that are just plain stupid and lame, badly drawn with nothing clever about them.

    So be proud!

  • @ThePsychShack your bloody right, they was the best years of my life, I will cherrish those years for the rest of my life, I feel very lucky to have been a 80s child! what a nice decade it was! the early 90s was'nt to bad neather!

  • @okcomputer4 Ha, my music teacher said he were about 37...saw him on myspace, he's influenced by this! Quite funny actually! Although, he doesn't seem to act like a cartoon!?! Or sing like one...!

  • @okcomputer4 remember watching this, TMNT, animals of farthing wood, bikermice from mars..etc. Truly, where did those years go? :(

  • @okcomputer4

Me too! This used to be one of my favourites.

  • @okcomputer4 you feel old lol im only 28 and i feel really old, i used to watch this after school to haha, proper good cartoons in the 80's

  • @okcomputer4 presumably, you was drunk

  • dead ringer for Bryan Griffin

  • If only he haed Brian Griffins wit

  • I had forgotten this cartoon completely :D

Hah.. I now recall it being pretty entertaining. (I think I saw it aroud time I was new to musketeers(real trio) so naturally watched it)

  • my head of year played this in assembly. we rave to it!!!! :-)

  • I'm going to be honest here.

    This is terryfying.

  • I loved this....oh the memories! he he!

  • I've never actually heard of this cartoon. Which ones are the Muskehounds?

  • The 3 guys at 0:11

  • Then who's the dog in the red?

  • Dogtanian

It was called "Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds"

  • @MST3Kbot he's the cardinal. the canine version of Richelieu

  • You're obviously not in your mid-thirties then! Surprisingly, the Muskehounds are the Musketeers that are dogs.

  • I didn't know which dogs specificaly were the Muskehounds.

  • I'm in my early 20s and I watched this as a child, was it on before?

  • Early 1980s but probably was repeat in the 90s.

  • brilliant cartoon, watching this takes me back

  • Watched one other day and he had his hand on that bird dogs tit! Dirty dog!

  • "They drink a beer and swear they're faithful to the king." Perfect! They would not allow that line in cartoon intro songs today.

  • if you watch the series in it's entirety, they wouldn't allow half of the stuff in shows nowadays

  • @AtticusStount my sentiments exactly. And its such a shame, songs like are what the youth need I think.

  • @AtticusStount guess they tried to ment they were able to enjoy alcohol without it affecting their job negatively, like it should go with a "proper" person?

  • @AtticusStount

    so true

  • @AtticusStount So true, but why on earth not? They drank in the book and so did every Frenchman in France at the time! It's political correctness gone mad, I say! lol

  • Wonderful cartoon, absolute masterpice
