man another parasite?!does this one get bigger and go thru other hosts like that fuckheaded tapeworm? parasites r so stupid they serve no purpose whatsoever, they aint food for anything, they dont help decompose things like flys or fungus n shit..they purely feed off other life, reproduce to do it all over again, and they dont contribute to life whatsoever.fuck em i hope they all die
@PoketrainerAl im sure they dont, theres no food or anything besides..warmth maybe and even still theyd go hide under something before they made the efoort to go into an ear...but that is how i woke up one day as a lil kid so after that i was jus like..wtf..

OMG i smacked an earwig on my bathroom floor yesterday and the same thing happened, bloody freaked me out a bit, gonna go look for more earwigs and smack them and see what happens, my weekends are about to get a little bit more interesting lolol (ps i killed the wormy thing too)
Man! Fuck all the bull shit! Burn that mother fucker! 'Cause you need to destroy the atomic molecule that make that ugly thing up!!!!! eeeeeeeahhhhhh!!!!!
This is just a nematomorpha parasite AKA horsehair worm. They're actually very interesting because just before they are ready to come out they will control the host, and force it to jump into a water source, the worm's natural habitat. Clearly this one didn't make it to one. And before you question whether this is true, just look it up. It is.
Wow, what spineless rejects voted me down for defending earwigs? It's FACT that they're harmless and helpful, there's no reason to kill something just because you're too pea-brained and babyish to see what makes it beautiful.
definately Mermis nigrescens, parasite that kills insects, and is used to control grasshopper populations, if its dark in colour, its a female thats full of eggs, and is white/creamy if no eggs are inside. laying around 20-100 eggs each year, relying on a host insect to absorb food as it cannot eat itself.
the parasite in this vid does not prey on humans the little bug with the pincers on his tail is commonly called an 'earwig' and is harmless I think it is related to termites.
I've seen these things come out of a jerusalem cricket. Apparently one of the effects is insatiable thirst where the infected bug will crawl into the nearest body of water and drown. Happens in Southern California. I'm glad there aren't larger versions for us humans ... or are there?!
That is the nastiest thing I have ever saw! What is the rest of this damn worms "life cycle" anyway... what more could this thing do?? does it go pick on some bigger specimen --like...fish or frogs or some other innocent unsuspecting creature?? I'm scared to swim in lakes and streams and shit...& I'll never leave the light off in the bathroom ever again lol...but seriously WTF?
it's a parasitic worm that lives in a host, then ultimately takes over the brain of the hosts and makes it commit suicide so i can be released from the hosts' body
Earwigs venture into the ears of the unwary animals and humans and deposit that worm. Then the worm ventures around the brain eating at it's leisure. There currently is no known procedure on how to extract the worm a host with out X_X 'ing
lol, had u scared huh? I know of topsecret documents detailing these truths. Unfortunately, if I went into further detail then a black unmarked chopper would fly over your home and extract you and your family and zap you with the "flashy" thingy tho. soz
thats actually not true Earwigs are called "Ear" since the wing design resembles an ear.they like to hide in small places and somewhat started the rumor that they eat your brain.
the worm must have lived in the earwig for some time and then when the earwigs body failed and could not support anything the worm must have realized that couldnt survive and made its way out od the earwig
That is a parasite. They usually live in crickets but evidently this one found its way into an earwig. It's scary as hell, some species of parasitic worms can actually control the mind of their host, like the ones that live in crickets force the cricket to drown themselves.
I hate the fuckin pincers and if you goto the underground tunnel in the field museum in chicago you can find a pencil next to a bady earwig lol my friend droped it :( -_-"

wow i have neva seen a more stupid vid of an earwig and a worm that got 43 comments all over if they have wings and then some guy says in his nerdy science way they do waste of life really
Omg you kids are dumb and I quote "Flight capability in Dermaptera is varied, as there are species with and without wings. In those earwigs that have wings (are not apterous), the hindwings are folded in a complex fashion, so that they fit under the forewings. Most species of winged earwigs are capable of flight, yet earwigs rarely fly around." Yea check it b4 u wreck it
that would be a hair worm. Scientists say hairworms, which live inside grasshoppers crikets, and other bugs, pump the insects with a cocktail of chemicals that makes them commit suicide by leaping into water. The parasites then swim away from their drowning hosts to continue their life cycle.
Saw a Night Gallery story once about a nasty fella that had an earwig put in his ear while in South America. A doctor got the earwig out and mashed it. Baby earwigs came out. Seems it was a pregnant earwig and had babies all through his head as it ate it's way clean through his brain and out his other ear. Eww.
