okay so im trying tomake an amigurumi octopus and i have the head/ball done but i can seem to find a simple video and i usually refer to your videos for help but this one is confusing any idea on how to help make it simpler cuz im a beginner:)
I would like to know how to make it so that the bottom is somewhat flatter. Should I make the tube first then create a flat disk and stitch it together? Or Is there some technique where I can shape it this way continuously?
Hi Theresa, I love your videos and this one was very helpful. However I am working on a pattern that asks that you use a "chemille wire" for the arms and legs. It asks to crochet around it. Unfortunately for me I have no idea how to do that. And this is my first time doing these kinds of crochet. Do you have any suggestions?
great work always! on each crochet loop are you single crocheting into just the front side of the loop or through the whole stitch? it's hard to tell from the video TFS
i made a circle and now i made a fatter tube-like shape and im sewing it together and its so far a bear...now i have to make skinnier tubes to make the arms and legs!
Thank You So Much! I Am Making A Crochet Pig Out Of A Hackey Sack Ball That I Learned How To Make From One Of Your Videos, Now I Am Making Arms And Legs! Sooooo Helpful!!! <3
I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours now: if I wanted to create a bend in my leg, how would I go about doing that? I imagine some sort of combination of sl st, sc, and dc? A little help would be appreciated, I've searched and tried myself with no real solution yet. A great video for those learning crocheting.
Ok, I completed a 8 SC DEC, 8 SC INC to create the bend on a 24 st round. Now I'm continuing rounds with 24 SC. Will this eventually give my leg a shape similar to a 90° pipe elbow?
I have not worked through a bend with this piece, so I am not exactly sure how it will come out. I would suggest that you do the same amount of increases opposite the decreases, so you have the same amount of stitches.
I've found out that doing that creates a skew in the work, it doesn't actually bend it. What I believe will work, and I was up until 5AM thinking and testing this out, is a sl st - sc pattern. Ex: for a 12 st round: 1 sl st - 10 sc - 1 sl st. Next round: 2 sl st - 8 sc - 2 sl st. This should create somewhere around a 45 degree bend, so then I would just do the same thing again to create the other 45 degrees remaining then continue working 12 sc rounds. I will test this and reply if it works.
Of course for the sl st - sc - sl st rounds, you could increase each sl st by one and decrease each sc by two in each consecutive round until you have only 2 sc to complete because if you had 6 sl st - 0 sc - 6 sl st that wouldn't make any sense.
I've made MANY modifications to the pattern that I'm working on that I need this 90° bend for. I'll need to test the pattern over the weekend to see if it works. I can currently make 3/7 pieces that I need done. The remaining 4 pieces are what require the bends. Thank you though for all of your help, it got my brain ticking on how I can solve my problem.

You sound sick in this video. A little under the weather?
pandagirl4561 9 months ago
@pandagirl4561 Since the video was done three years ago, I don't remember what was going on. Most likely it is allergies since it was done in May.

A bend will be made with a combination of increases and decreases.

Is it possible to croche the body parts of the stuffed animal together? Or it has to be sewed?
ss0802 2 years ago
It will depend on the pattern. Some are written with openings for arms to be sewn on later.
tjw1963 2 years ago
do you do the body the same way if you want that shape?
iceoffire20 2 years ago
You can make the body any shape you would like.
