Cool machine! I'm thinking about getting the new Aurora ALX (2009) and with Intel Core i7 975, Dual 5870, and etc. I'm going to sell my Mac Pro for alienware because Macs...err...they give me trouble
Thanks for the great non-fanboy comment (it's hard not to get those nowadays). See, I've had 2 pcs in the past. They didnt give me problems, they just got old in 4-5 years. In 2007, i got a Macbook instead of my Thinkpad. I had to return the macbook in 2008 because the body got too hot on my lap and actually burned a hole in my jeans. I purchased a great HP computer but it got pretty slow in early 2009 because of its Athlon X2+. In mar 2009, i got a mac pro. Now i wanna get this. Mac sucks
Lol all i ahd was problems with macs, a bunch of my coolege friends all ahd amcs and said that i should get one so we can do all that stuff and i told them was was subpar and to epxnecive ect, but i got one jsut so i could NETWORK with them better, out of the box all i had was problems, so i took it back and got my self a nice new Vista laptop and, and a TON of perfierals, Games and soem DVds all for the same price as that base macbook alone, smae power PC,but better value
i might get this i really like it, but at the same time its a bit overpriced coz there is also a Studio XPS 8000 with better prossecor , but less ram. But is 500$ cheaper.
same I just orderd it this morning when will it come and how come it has such few pci slots i couldn't get the gaming card or a sound card just so i could havw the Eyefinity Dual ATI HD 5870 in Crossfire is it really small??
I dont know how much his was but I think the Alienwares out now cost $1000-$2200. The old Falcon Northwest Mach V started at like $6300. I guess no one bought it since the newer version is about $2000 as well.
you cant get any good pc for 1300 lmao, you wouldnt be able to even run crysis, and iceblitz says it starts at 999 but thats because they leave out incredibly essential stuff that would get u up to 2k just to not have a shitty comp

seriously i dont understand how you even bought it Mr. Gates, there so fucking overpriced!!!!!
although the website said instead of acually "buying" an Aurora, it said 33$ a month, but then where is it?! i clicked it and all it gave me is some kind of alienware card...
Before you talking shit, you should learn what things are. In order to purchase a alienware system through payments, you need to have a alienware titanium account. Which is what the point of the card is. You apply for a titanium account, if your credit is good enough, you will get a titanium card. Then you can purchase the alienware system using the card.
i built my own pc from an alienware case... mines green and black, its as fast as their £3500 system but only cost me £800... gonna benchmark the system tomorow
yeah - but i have spent today surfing stuff about pc's, components, graphics cards and there is so much that can go wrong and so much you have to be worried about all i know so far is stuff like having the right amonut of power to supply other high end cards and also cooling problems
the alienware alx never came with a AMD its intel extream cpu only this is a cheaper PC and not the alienware alx. thats why the alienware is so much the cpu is about 1000 it self. do research befor u talk. alienware really isnt a rip off.
Not neccesarily, I agree with you on the high end systems, but the Aurora is good value. And nice rig BTW, pity about the response time of the monitor, preferable to have 5ms or lower, other than that.. brilliant
the only thing why buy from a company if ur not rich is cuz of the replacement parts if they die out within a year or w/e ull need to pay for it instead of the company..
I have intel x5400 motherboard, cor 2 extreme 3.2 ghz quad core processor,2 nvidia 9800 gt cards each of 1 gb,an ageia physics acclerator, two hard drives of 1.5 tb each at RAID 0 conflguration,8 gb ddr3 ram at 1600 mhz.And still i live in india.
Kathasabat dont worry about what others say dude you have a mean badass pc. Others just wish they had one but with there wal-mart paycheck they cant afford one. PEACEEE
not true, i have 3 XFX 8800GTX's a Quadcore amd proccesor asus crosshair motherboard etc and i work a a grocery store total cost was about 2,500 so sit down and stfu.
u can get these with quad cores and if u get a max out one then u crazy u should only spend about 2 grand on a alienware coz that is good enuff for anyone
You're pretty dumb if you buy high end PCs from brands. I could build the same Pc you got here for 1200$.
I guess you paid like 5000$ with that 20'' screen. Well hey I got a 42'' screen with 6ms response time wich supports up to 1920x1080. And I still paid less than 5000$ for all that. Liquid Cooling as well and Intel 6850. 4GB 800Mhz RAM.
So people, start readind and build your PCs yourself!
Right. Because the one thing I LOVE doing is always having to troubleshoot a new PC.
For those who want the headache and save the cash- I think building a PC is great. But if I just want a stable machine with a company I can deal with if its not working, then I'll pay the extra for a Alienware- they do great work and have very good customer service.
Unfortunately they run Windows, so now I have a iMac.
Exactly the opposite to me. I never had any troubles with the PCs I built myself. All you gotta do is installing the OS and the drivers, then customize it to your desires. If you aint a total noob, you should be able to do it. Dell and alienware with their software and stuff are the ones that will cause problems. They gave me many headaches..
Well my PC I built last year for £660 has never ever failed me. Someone I talk to regularly spent £1000 on an alienware, the specs on it are weaker than on my custom build, and he says his PC got blue screen of deathed about 4 times in the space of a week.
I'd rather pay less for more than pay more for less.
Doesn't matter if you could build a desktop for a cheaper price. No matter how much you spend on a desktop or a laptop. There is always going to be someone who has a better desktop/laptop then you who spent less. Get over it.
actually alienware has some system going that if it ever need updating you can send it in to them and they will fix it all up for (new graphic cards etc..) and i guarantee it wont be 3000 dollars. 600 at most. and its 600 well spent.
tired of this build it yourself bullshit...some 1 please explain to me were to buy a alienware alx computer case..and were to buy alienFX system lighting if not then shut the fuck up. i havent had any problems with my alx crossfire if i wanted to make my own pc it would take to long and would never look as good as my alx cf
man to bad i got the aurora m9700 laptop...ah well maybe ill gwt the ALX system there awsome i can get the things i wanted for it for around 3 grand same price i got for my m9700...im jealos =P
Are do all you guys ranting about how we should have built our computers have a grudge against alienware. People choose alienware because it's much easier and much faster then building your own computer.
Dell are almost more overpiced than Alienware when it comes to the XPS series. They take 600 dollars to upgrade from 2 gb of corsair pc6400 ram to 4 gb of corsair pc6400 ram. I could buy 4 gb of that ram in stores for around 300 dollars. Don't buy either, build one yourself (guaranteed to get better hardware for half the price :D)
and you paid way too fucking much you can build a system with twice the power at half the cost they are junk check out my video my system only ran me around 1400
Alienware is the biggest ripoff ever! I have a buddy that got one once, and let me tell you, you had better hope you never have any problems. Alienware's support has to be about the worst out there.
You could easily build a nicer looking and better preforming PC for a good bit less. Basically Alienware sucks hard. All Alienware is is a glorified Dell.
Does Alienware let you overclock? I hope so, if not, that is one more strike against them.
Dude dont listen to the assholes slamming you for spending whatever you spent non it thier just jelous poor losers. I just got mine 3ghz duo core intell, 4 gb of ram only 1 Nvidia 8800 card and the minimum hard drive 250 gb. $3600 and some after tax and shipping. In fact I got more for my money then a comaparable dell(who own Alienware) Enjoy I salute you!
thats unreal man i could have built 3 of my systems for that and each one would kill yours i spent about 1400 canadian and its got 2 gig kingston hyper x 800mhz sli ram dual 7950 gt ko's a amd 6400 black edition overclocked to 3.5 with water cooling a 160 gb raptor x 10000 rpm hd and a 250 sata 2 hd
i have the video there its at default setting check under my name for the video i think my specs are there too ...... if not ask took alot of pissing around to get it there though but am now close to 17000 trying to oc the cpu further but i think the ram is too slow need 900 ram maybe... dunno
I have build my own PC's, but now I'm saving to buy a $7'000 Alienware, for some of us, is now about the money, or how much we safe, is more about what we get. "An Alienware"
yah and what are you getting... a bunch of brand name parts exactly the same as you get in an alien ware for thousands less ...... in a case that says alienware on it
I have had 3 YES 3 of these Aurora ALX computers this year, exactly the same spec as this one, ALL OF THEM died and would not turn on after 3 weeks of getting each of them, 1 came with a graphics card power cable disconnected and then wouldn't turn on 3 weeks later, and the other 2 died after 3 weeks and would not turn on either, thats £9000 worth of computer in less than 3 months thats gone wrong. ALIENWARE SUCK.
I truthfully have not dealt with that yet, they were nice when I ordered the computer, and one of the parts dropped a $100 after I bought it, but before it had shipped, so I called them about it and they took $100 of the price. But that was the sales department so I don't know about tech support.
hehehehe! my intel core i3 is faster! heheheehehe!

earlofnim 4 years ago
actually alienware has some system going that if it ever need updating you can send it in to them and they will fix it all up for (new graphic cards etc..) and i guarantee it wont be 3000 dollars. 600 at most. and its 600 well spent.
noahizzy 4 years ago
Right. Post a vid of it, noahizzy.

The case is cool.
That may be one of the other reasons they bogth an Alienware, nut Voodoo PC beats Alienware Big time...
BlackHatLinwix 4 years ago
Are do all you guys ranting about how we should have built our computers have a grudge against alienware. People choose alienware because it's much easier and much faster then building your own computer.
BeaverWalrus 4 years ago
but yet its not hard at all to build a computer and easier than using at least a months worth of salary
chevguy502 4 years ago
thumbs up chevguy
TheSpleenHybrid 4 years ago
haha thanks
chevguy502 4 years ago
That's nice.
You bought your computer. Someone else built it. I bought my parts, built it and its faster
(and cheaper I think). Intel Core2QUAD Q8650..
The rest is history..
TechnicalFreak 4 years ago
Gosh... I'm sure many people own Area-51 ALX, so why don't you post a video about it?! I really wanna see one, please! Thanks.

don't go alienware, go dell xps
i've got one
torpido93 4 years ago
Dell are almost more overpiced than Alienware when it comes to the XPS series. They take 600 dollars to upgrade from 2 gb of corsair pc6400 ram to 4 gb of corsair pc6400 ram. I could buy 4 gb of that ram in stores for around 300 dollars. Don't buy either, build one yourself (guaranteed to get better hardware for half the price :D)
oscarstegland 4 years ago
they are made by the same company btw
stgeorge91 4 years ago
Well shows that whoever owns it all are corporate assholes who rely on the fact that Dell is a mainstream brand to actually sell.
oscarstegland 4 years ago
and you paid way too fucking much you can build a system with twice the power at half the cost they are junk check out my video my system only ran me around 1400
chevguy502 4 years ago
Alienware is the biggest ripoff ever! I have a buddy that got one once, and let me tell you, you had better hope you never have any problems. Alienware's support has to be about the worst out there.
You could easily build a nicer looking and better preforming PC for a good bit less. Basically Alienware sucks hard. All Alienware is is a glorified Dell.
Does Alienware let you overclock? I hope so, if not, that is one more strike against them.

chevguy502 4 years ago

chevguy502 4 years ago
Oh now I see. :D
I have an 8800GTX and an E6600. Somehow it's hard to believe that you get 16k with your setup though...
koko56 4 years ago
i have the video there its at default setting check under my name for the video i think my specs are there too ...... if not ask took alot of pissing around to get it there though but am now close to 17000 trying to oc the cpu further but i think the ram is too slow need 900 ram maybe... dunno
chevguy502 4 years ago
oh shit, sorry... I mixed 3DMark 05 with 06... AGAIN! :P
16k sound pretty reasonable.
koko56 4 years ago
Are you retarded? That ALX would rape your rig quite happily... and would be quite a bit better than mine. Notice the DUAL 8800GTX. ;)
koko56 4 years ago
I have build my own PC's, but now I'm saving to buy a $7'000 Alienware, for some of us, is now about the money, or how much we safe, is more about what we get. "An Alienware"
Diegog5 4 years ago
yah and what are you getting... a bunch of brand name parts exactly the same as you get in an alien ware for thousands less ...... in a case that says alienware on it
chevguy502 4 years ago
you could easily buy an alienware case off of ebay and get your own separate parts.
ahah so you can have an alienware computer with the name without the thousands spent on a plastic alien-head shaped object
ericeng91 4 years ago
exactly thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chevguy502 4 years ago
so stop complaining and go do it
stgeorge91 4 years ago
did already dipshit
chevguy502 4 years ago
Shut up. Alienware costs more because of blu ray stupid!
kzalldaz 4 years ago
I have had 3 YES 3 of these Aurora ALX computers this year, exactly the same spec as this one, ALL OF THEM died and would not turn on after 3 weeks of getting each of them, 1 came with a graphics card power cable disconnected and then wouldn't turn on 3 weeks later, and the other 2 died after 3 weeks and would not turn on either, thats £9000 worth of computer in less than 3 months thats gone wrong. ALIENWARE SUCK.

I want to buy an alienware computer but i've heard that their customer service isn't too good. What do you think of their service?
UnpwnedSoldier 4 years ago
I truthfully have not dealt with that yet, they were nice when I ordered the computer, and one of the parts dropped a $100 after I bought it, but before it had shipped, so I called them about it and they took $100 of the price. But that was the sales department so I don't know about tech support.
kathasabat 4 years ago
Ok thanks but the good thing is that you didn't have to call tech support so i guess it's ok:)
UnpwnedSoldier 4 years ago
i like alienware but the amount of money it costs to buy 1 is a little to much to my opinion that's why i built my own for
themaninthevan 4 years ago
