I'm not good at this move. Every time that I try it, I pull the knee into my groin and it hurts. Also, some times people tap before I release but it hurts me a lot. Do I put up with it or am I doing it wrong?
haha you dumbass he taps because its set up...most fighters will fight for at least a few more seconds before they tap from that...it is a decent submission though...thats if you can set it up
quick with the insults arent you? I know what stuff like that feels like. You try and act macho for too long and you end up with torn ligaments and such.
i know haha beleive me...i do jiu jitsu and i wasnt really tryin to be mean with callin you a dumbass i just thought that you were one of the people who didnt know much about martial arts and made assumptions before you would actually tryed the move
I'm not a sambo guy, I'm a BJJ guy but I will say this. If you "fight" for a second you could ruin your knee. This is a demo so the guy shows that the move worked. In training, if the knee is that deep you tap or snap, dumb ass.
Are you fucking retarded? While drilling you may not want to make the guy tap, but in TRAINING, that is ROLLING with a guy you do constantly look for the tap. If the guy is in that deep you don't want to risk it, you would just tap out or risk getting a fucked up knee, you dumb FUCK!
hahaha your just making up shit drilling and rolling ? what the fuck is that? no. you train. and you work on technique. and then you fight and you put all of your work to use. just like every other sport. but if you wanna fight about this, come to vegas. i'm at the tapout gym every day from 9 to noon and then from 4 to 8.
thats basically the only way to lesson the hold. its really up to the skill levell of the person preforming it. if you have a lot of skill with it you should be fine, but if your not so efficent with your ability to keep a locked hold with enough pressure that the other person doesnt think about...hey roll away....they simply rive in pain untill you stop or it breaks
Yooo! Sambo Steve! Awesome vid man. For anybody that doesn't already know, this is Sambo Steve, one of the BEST Sambo instructors in the US and probably the world.
It also uses a kurtka instead of a judo or jiu-jitsu gi, and some of the moves are a little more difficult. You also can't use your belt tails like you can in jiu-jitsu, but you attack the legs as opposed to judo where you can't.
Ninjutsu influenced all kinds of martial arts. Karate, judo, aikido, everything. Especially close to the meiji era when there wasn't much need for the ninja, so some put their efforts into learning new disciplines
Yea dude this doesn't take long to actually break a leg.. careful

Who would win in a submisson wrestling match? Sambo or BJJ?
jkullander 2 years ago
I'd say BJJ. But it does depend on the fighters. Good question though.

Combat Sambo and sambo!
mddog 2 years ago
They're very similar but different. Sambo is submission before position, jiu jitsu is the opposite.

good answer bro

Actually people tap pretty fast from knee bars because they are one of the more painful submissions.

Question:
once down, how do you keep the guy from twisting to his left (lessoning the hold)

i think it's the other way around,
judo comes from (japanese) jiujitsu.
swimon 3 years ago
well i was referring to bjj. bjj and sambo both came from judo which came from JJJ
gr33ndestLny 3 years ago
sambo comes from freestye wrestling, folk stle and judo its like judo but it has more submissions and its like bjj but meanner

superdruid999 3 years ago
Actually, it started from Jujitsu and it branched out. From there, came styles like Judo, Aikido, etc.
hannibalslaughter 3 years ago
heard aikido had some ninjutsu techniques aswell
superdruid999 3 years ago
or had influence from ninjutsu
superdruid999 3 years ago
Yeah, for some of the throwing techniques and other stuff as well. Ninjutsu was created purely for assassination though.

The offensive techniques in sambo are the karate/kickboxing style strikes you see, so look for 'sambo strikes' if you wanna learn some offense
