  • @FenrirLupus I agree. Sold the Jazzmaster about 12 years ago for almost twice what I paid for it simply because it was built before CBS bought out Fender.

  • What a great gift to fans of instrumental rock and roll. Absolutely love these guys.

  • Mel and Bob (RIP)

  • Playin' my Mosrite!! Actually it belonged to my deceased bro.....It plays great!!

  • Yuri Gagarin, on lead guitar? :-)

  • @Tobbogun0run

Too funny, you're right - knew he looked familiar.

  • I like the Mosrites. They give the ventures a real twanggy sound.

  • Legends!

    Nothing more can be said.

  • "Hey guys? What shall we do as a stage act?"

    "I know, lets GRIN!"

"Yep... that should do it! "

    ;-)

    Great stuff, a legendary band...

  • what happened to these guys?

  • @westrokker Still touring and recording and BIG IN JAPAN!

  • @emerpus01 thanks for the update!

  • @westrokker Nokie still Tours .. the other three are retired or dead!

  • @videogeekin thanks, didn't kno that. I remember when I was bout 11 or 12 everyone tryin' to learn "wipeout " on guitar and drums..

  • Gene Krupa, eat your heart out1

  • Those maniacal facial expressions crack me up!

  • mmmm hair cream

  • they look so happy to be playing

  • esto es muy bueno!!

  • goog &bad news the ventures made the rock and rol hall 2007 or 8 ,but mel and bob had died.

  • And Spock on drums!!!

  • You just gotta love a band that plays 3 Mosrites

  • i'm glad people no longer dance like those girls. although i'm not exactly fond of modern dancers.

  • The Impossibles stole their act!

  • Very good

  • GREAT BAND...

  • is like bethoven...always played the same way

  • All that and a tube of Score Hair cream. I used to use that stuff. It held like a champ...albeit a greasy champ.

  • @rmkle Score??? Not Brylcream?lol

  • WOW...I really did not know they were that hot....they look pretty comfortable just playing awesome and tight

  • reminds me of surfing Hawaii

  • The Ventures rockin' "Caravan"! Awesome!

  • killer reverb, anyone know what they used? fender? plate or spring?

  • old reverb tanks that fender used to make (still do in reissue) . You cannot get that sound without a tube reverb tank. The brown face 62 Showman helps too.

  • This is the INSTRUMENTAL "A" TEAM! Nokie and Don - Keep on rockin'

Bob and Mel - Rest in peace. You guys were THE BEST!

  • 民國54年2月10日演奏

  • wicked!

more wicked than some heavy metal pussies....

  • wah you no lov metal?

  • Awesome Video!! What rare footage!!!

    five stars

  • yeah!! puro pesadote

    jeje

  • Diamond Head was written by Dan Hamilton

  • great stile

  • ha.ha.Use score haircream and score with the chicks.

  • Have there been more cooler guitars then these Mosrites?

  • The Shadows are pretty cool too. Give them a listen if you haven't already.

  • balls

  • get over yourself, loser.

  • Gene was king. Even Buddy Rich copied him. They called him the Metronome.

  • RIP Bob---

  • Oh yeah, score dentcream! I love these older commercials! *Your doctor smokes Camel!* *haha* *love it!*

  • The best! the drummer reminds me of Gene Krupa's playing.

  • Gene Krupa was one of his inspirations.

  • holy god these guys are awesome

  • These guys ripped and will ALWAYS rip!!

  • wtf ! did he just played bass with a drumstick ? thats just fucking awesome

  • while drumming

  • i like the music but it seems kind of strange that almost none of their songs have no words...

  • its a instrumental band thats why , i prefer bands like this though ;D

  • That is why it is known as INSTRUMENTAL music.

  • Practice your scales and you too can play this way.

  • O.o Abelino !

  • Mosrite neck was so perfect you only had to touch string for it to contact fret instead of pressing and made it so easy to play. Couldn't duplicate that feel on my Jazzmaster no matter how I adjusted it. Mosrites from that period go for about 10 times what they sold for if you can find one.Ventures got a lot of people playing guitar with their "how to play guitar" courses.I love how they just bang away on songs without all the facial expressions and jumping around like today.True professionals.

  • I WANT have one!! mosrite rocks!

    The Ventures :)

    Jhonny Ramone :D

  • @speedskiff2

I learned how to play pipeline off one of the Ventures how to play albums in the 69s. Of course I was doing it on my dad's archtop. Didn't have quite the same sound as the mosrites :)

  • @lesvance01 My 1st amp was a Magnavox Console tube stereo through auxiliary plug. Then a big Silvertone and finally a transistor Vox Buckingham. The Vox would override once you pushed it and wound up plugging it into Silvertone and splitting into both speaker cabinets. I didn't know back then to bypass overrides. Memories, right?

  • Thats its all about MUSIC.....not this shit RAP of today's music.

  • I suppose inthe 60s this was quite scary...I like the solos. Where did they go? Did they form Floyd???

  • it's nuclear.. score hair cream..

    psychedelica, i like it :)

  • Awesome - that reminds me of my good old days I was bought up with

  • I had just turned 12 puberty and great time were soon to follow

  • OMG! I used to USE Score® - clear hair cream! I used it on my "Flat top with Fenders" haricut back in the early sixties. Anybody remember THAT style? LMOAO !

  • they just look so goddamn cool...

    hehe

  • あまり見ない当時の貴重な演奏、ありがとうございました。

  • God, I love the bass riff on Diamond Head...

  • that was like 50`s metallica ... hehe

  • There must be a lot of Ventures music in Heaven. Otherwise it wouldn't be Heaven!

  • so simple, but yet so fuckin bad ass!

  • sin duda alguna el mejor grupo instrumental de la historia ...sus temas son clasicos de clasicos e influenciaron en muchos musicos

  • The Ventures stand at the top of the pile of great instrumental/surf bands. They did so many great tunes of their own as well as improved cover versions of others songs.

  • n_______n

toe aprendiendo a tocar esta cancion !!!

    es d la kZm!

  • Amo esta banda

  • Nokie Edwards as multi talented as he is has got to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and Mel Taylor a timeless drummer as well. The Ventures are great musicians, although covering many songs, they are original having their distinct sound.

  • Hi ricbeach, thanks for one of my favourites of Ventures - The Diamond Head. By any chance can you locate and upload the title song of the movie 'Carnival of Thieves' by Ventures? This is an early 60's movie.

  • Ah, the wonderful sound of a Mosrite Ventures' Model guitar. I have a 66' bass in three color sunburst. Great playing guitars. I have a video of me playing the Mosrite on my page.

  • At least white people had videos to show.

  • that is a really racist comment. music is music period.

  • I happen to like videos where they do not wave handguns and talk about shooting policemen

  • I happen to like videos where they do not wave handguns and talk about shooting policemen

  • lol I like how they dance haha

  • They are just superb. The VENTURES RULED THE SIXTIES AND THE SEVENTIES.God grant them long long life so that they continue playing.

  • @vigrot Bob is dead! RIP.

  • Beloved Invaders RULES!

  • mel taylor is the best the drummer to me.

  • holy shit, right? are those 32nd notes?

  • Jesus, Mel!! Playing the drums-on-bass thing AND hittin the drums at the same time! Baruch Hashem for Mel Taylor!!

  • Amo esta banda
