Love that record! Great sound, production and lyrics!
Spec made Cohen sing and shout and show his feelings instead of just breathing into mic with his usual starbucks-friendly voice.I don't think Larry Levine should be apologising for it.
I know lots of people who love that album.
And as for "this record just sucks" guy? Fuck you,and your 4$ shirt, you fingersniffer -))))
I think the album has lots of great moments and a great sound.
Why do people find this album so strange, while the keyboard overloaded, synthetic 'Various Positions' doesn't seem to be a problem at all for them? That 1980s album sounds as if Cohen ended up on some cheap label. And on the next two albums the synths are joined by a hoarse voice, without anyone complaining.
I'm not too crazy about the whole album, but the album's best moments rank with Cohen's best work.
