Superbrownnoser-you really need to get facts straight. They can layoff union employees that have a service date starting after 2003. As far as victory goes this is the start of it because the company realized that they need us because of the poor sericethat was being provided without us. That is a fact! By the way the Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that union members get paid about $20.65 an hour while non-union members receive $16.42 an hour. By the end of an 8 hour day the union member will receive about $33.84 more than his/her non-union counterpart. Pity the 92% of Americans who are non-union.

Verizon is playing with numbers; many land line customers are switching to Fios. Verizon isn't loosing costumers. Many striking union employees are installing profitable Fios. The worst part of this whole thing is that you walked for two weeks and then begged to come back. The company should have locked you out for good, then they should have gotten some real union tech's out of another hall. By the way the Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that union members get paid about $20.65 an hour while non-union members receive $16.42 an hour. By the end of an 8 hour day the union member will receive about $33.84 more than his/her non-union counterpart. Pity the 92% of Americans who are non-union.

Verizon is playing with numbers; many land line customers are switching to Fios. Verizon isn't loosing costumers. Many striking union employees are installing profitable Fios. It was all fun and games a week ago. Now Those bills are rolling in and you just found out how much a cobra payment is to keep your health care. Fidelity just contacted you that loan you took out on your 401 is now due and payable. School clothes to buy and food and a mortgage.

Bet if OSHA started taking a look at some of the managers that are violating almost every safety issue known to the telecom industry as well as VZ safety practices and it starts costing VZ for not enforcing THEIR OWN PRACTICES as have been recorded via video by the strikers then the story might change. @RightReb AMEN!!! The IBEW has no strike fund or COBRA. CWA is paying 35,000 people $200 a week which = $7,000,000 a week. Their strike fund is only so large, eventually they will bankrupt themselves. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of the union when they are asked to stay on the picket line for $0.00.

@dadsitouch Money makes no difference to me. Frankly, I would rather be home with my 3yo and 1yo boys instead of working 72 hours a week. Here's some food for thought. The Union has been asked to contribute 100 a month to Health Ins. With the money you have lost being on strike for nearly 2 weeks, you could have already paid that $1200 a year for your Health Ins.

Wireless doesn’t stand along all wireless is based upon a wired and fiber optic infrastructure. Now more that ever wireless is dependent on the Fiber Optic infrastructure with 3G and 4G networks coming main stream the demand for OC3s and OC12s optic network is now their bread and butter . In the CO we are the techs that install and maintain these Hi Speed CKTs. VZ would like to say the all wireline does is Dial Tone and FiOS that’s totally not true. We also install Hi speed Internet ckts.

Lowell McAdam was not far behind Seidenberg during his stint as Verizon Wireless CEO and then Verizon COO in salary and Total Compensation. He's a guy that has leached off his Union-less Verizon Wireless workers and wants to do the same with the Core...the actual FACE of the business. A company that takes in BILLIONS in profits should be viewed differently than a company struggling to stay afloat.

According to Forbes, Ivan Seidenberg earned $30.93 Million in TOTAL compensation in 2010. His 5-year Compensation total is $101.53 Million. Verizon lays off middle class workers and complains about a declining wireline business but yet their Board Members and CEO walk away with MILLIONS. Verizon should be a LEADER in building the Middle Class in the United States...instead, they are falling in line with every Greedy corporation that is sucking the LIFE from this beautiful country and its people.
