@AdmiralArcher It would of been great if the MTA purchased some of them, years 1979 to 1984 the MTA should of purchased GMC Fishbowls made in Canada. More systems in the USA would of did that, the trouble was the buy USA stipulation alot of systems had. They had Detroit Diesel Engines anyway. It could of been done with the engines made in the USA, bus and rest of the parts made in Canada. That is how it is done now, with the New Flyer buses, and Nova buses purchased by US systems.

Gmc fishbowls built like tanks made in 1982 in very good shape as they wher the best buses ever made. In New York city in great shape in 1994, ones made in 1972 to 1974. Many wher still running in 2004, purchased before 1992. They ran up till 2007. In 2007 the MTA should of rebuilt 40% of them to run 6 more years. @jesterwhl In Montreal STM should give their buses a 3rd 6 year rebuild, plus a life extension reconditioning so they can run 3 more years. That should of been done with the Classic"s, and the 82 Fishbowls. A lot of fishbowls would of still been tunning there, and for sure 1989, 90, 91, 92 Classics.
ALL the MCIs got retired in one shot, last week. Within a day of retiring, 11-030 and 11-068 were seen on a flatbed near Quebec City heading to the scrap heap... stupid STM... X[
