I once sat at a dinner club bar (The Half Fast Walking Club) and drank a bottle of wine with Henry Mancini before he when on stag and played with Pete Fountian. What a treat. We discussed all of the musicians and music that influenced his life. Afterward we took a picture together and they signed the Billing for me. What memories!
@genelsac Why do you think everything was so simple and uncomplicated then? Shaw wrote many of his songs during the Great Depression and Second World War.
I'm so happy to have found this beautiful tune as quickly as I did! I have such a love for great big band sounds like Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and others! This is truly what I like to call "chill out music" if you will! Rather, the kind of music that you like to hear on a rainy day, to read by, or have a nice glass of your favorite wine or bourbon! Whatever mood suits us the best is right and correct for you!
I listen to this while I play my World War II flight simulator...it fits quite well. Well, even if I'm not playing it, it's still VERY nice to listen to.
Thank You

The music seems to transport me back to an era when everything was so simple and uncomplicated. Just like my grandparents' time.

The clarinet solo on this recording is
considered the greatest of all time.

@rminnewawa Actually it's the trombone solo by Jack Jenney that gets the raves on this record.
