  • outstanding.....!!

  • awesome!

  • These guys really wouldn't have looked out of place back in the day. Pity there isn't the crowds to watch that there used to be. I used enjoy the crews/troops challenging each other. Pity no ladies also - having said that I can only count on one hand the ladies I remember in North West England. The book is a very accurate and detailed record of what went on and highly recommended purchase!

  • @RitmoNo1 me too watching the different crews challeniging each other was dope...

remember seeing some dope challenges at the hacienda, legends etc...footpatrol holding ground everytime.....

  • Would have been good to see some of the older original hoofers too.

Another point worth mentioning, there were some great female dancers back then & only one man mentions that in your book.

As regards Jermson's comment, yes it has been passed down from the Crackers days...

  • Bring back the HORSESHOE you guys would love it

  • Esto es una convinacion de KARATE , TAP , BREAKDANCE con musica de mambo. De cualquier manera esta buenisimo.

  • Back in the Early 90's we called this "Housin'"

We us to dance like this to "House-Music".

  • @jermson UL jazz dance came from the funk disco and northern soul scenes in the uk - 70's mate. So it's not housin' plus housing looks slightly different. :o)

  • @jermson yep he didnt miss out the slightly lesser known crews like the fusion fanatics who were like sub division guys of Footpatrol.

  • Great read Mark spot account of the north west as well..

  • great book mark..hope to see you soon back at soul purpose, etc..love the jazz dance..mart.

  • snowboy still the man!

  • does somebody know the name of the tune he played during the dance session?

  • @gavranis Hi mate. It's called 'Descarga Angixi' from my album 'Afro Cuban Jazz' on Cu Bop/Ubiquity. Glad you like it.

  • @whispervalley1 thank you, in the meantime I found out and bought the album. Cheers!!

  • I love those guys!! Back in the day Jap Jazz had a special place in the U.K Jazz Dance scene, those young guys have pick up exactly the style and enthusiassm (sp) of the "Electric Ballroom\WAG\Horseshe " era and refined improved and throwing it back. Brilliant, Imgaine these guys back in the Day doing this stuff in the Jazz room in Jaffa's, it would have given the locals a run for their money.

P.S Reading the Book Snowboy and you have done a great job detailing the period.

  • I remember seeing guys like these dancing at the WAG club back in the day
