  • Anthony, you are amazing

  • fantastico! Esta versão e muito linda.

  • nevertheless,,,,,,,,, ToTaLLy amazing !!

  • Amazing coordination. !

  • Most Youtube videos have their imitators, but nobody seems to have attempted to copy this! Heck, I can't even follow the fingerwork in my head.

  • nicely done ^^

  • amazing

  • Wow! I'm just blown away! Beautiful arrangement and stunning playing!

  • you must have fingers of steel

  • amazing

  • im confused! who strums the guitar when both hands are on the cords at the same time. someone pls tell me.

  • No one strums the guitar. The technique he is using is called 'touch style', 'tapping' or 'hammering'. Basically, when you strum you are causing the string to vibrate and the fretting hand pushes the string against the fret, shortening the length of the string. When you 'hammer on' with your fretting hand, it causes the string to vibrate in the same way so you get a sound from it.

Unless you dampen the strings this technique is only ideal with an amplifier.

  • @helraizer it is more effective if you are using an electric guitar,it is very sensitive to vibrations.

  • @leikimchen - not only that...

The pick-ups only pick up the vibrations from the part of the string between the fret played and the pick up itself.

If you play it on an acoustic guitar when you hammer-on you are exciting the whole string from both directions, from the nut to the fret, and from the fret played to the bridge; this gives you a chorus effect 'cause they both produce slightly different pitches.

Try it: fret a note and pick it from below the fret and then above you get 2 pitches

  • @kupski1 Someone is ayudand. Think please.

  • This is something I can listen to over and over again. It is so good.

  • Unbelievable! But how does he do this?

  • Awesome, just simply awesome... thanks for sharing and for making all of us Deaton's proud! thank you... Jeff Deaton

  • Why would you need a string quartet when you have this guy?

  • hehe i listen to this version when i study, its good.

  • great work! Inspiring, but you should really invest in a loop station, lol :)

  • That would be the smarter option, but which looks more impressive :-D

  • PRO . but i wan the alphabet score ._. LOL

  • it's good but in the mid part it's going a little bit fast

  • Awesome

  • sounds like the rhythm is being picked not hammered on....

  • Nah, it's hammered but with the combination of action, string gauge, tone etc. it just has that sound.

  • nice one, u should thank god for that wonderful talent...

    hmmm...

    really nice...

  • It really took my breath away.......gave me the goose bumps listening to it. Totally inspirational!

  • best guitar canon i have seen yet

  • wow! amazing!

  • I agree you are bad ass, and this song was sent by god haha...I think you should throw in some fast sweep like riffs in there every once in a while, but not too much. This song is too beautiful to butcher like some of these dueches do. awesome job

  • wow kik ass! wudv been beter with a lil distortion but its still awesome

  • awesome, how did you do that?

this song is sent by god.

  • WOW

    You are a music machine!

  • i like this version more becuz its more chill and relaxing unlike the rock version good job :D

  • amazing

  • Wow that guy have some mad skillz! I like this song very much!

  • YOU ROCK~!!!

  • that was really awesome :D

  • Wow.

  • perfect!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, amazing!!

  • wow.

  • Imagine what he could do if he two extra hands. Four guitars?

  • Very, very good. Awsome!!! Keep it up!

  • there are some great geniuses in this world!!!

  • how is it strumming?

  • It isn't. He's hammering the left hand and tapping (which is the same) with his right hand. None of it is picked, it sounds a little like it is because of the pick-ups and strings that he uses.

  • perfect this men is god

  • That is near perfect finger tapping and multitasking! Amazing!! And I thought the Canon Rock version was hard...

  • lol its not amazing multitasking. Its not like its more multitasking than playing piano.

But it is REALLY good. And looks difficult

  • Thats my point. its really hard.

  • great

  • How do you do that with out plucking the strings? Is it contact sensitive on the notes on the metal frets?

  • Yeah, in the picking hand it's known as Tapping and in the fretting hand it's known as hammer and pull (hammer on and pull off), you literally "hit" the strings with your finger on the fret. It'll produce that sound.

  • Ah ok thank you for the educating insight. It's BEAUTIFUL though. Wow. And I learned something new yay!

  • I'm seeing shades of Stanley Jordan :D

  • awesom!

  • i cant believe in this...you are perfect in this performance...amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • i´m impressed.. two guitars. respect !

  • very awesome s fantastic is beautiful

  • ZackKim's canon is better even though anthony is also good as him

  • Thanks for the comment. I personally prefer Anthony's because he has much better quality and better tone. It's also less simplified, but as to which one is better is opinion, and that's poifectly fine.

  • lol amazing

  • Beautiful!

  • awesome man...!!!

  • awesome

  • The D must be for Deaton ;)

  • Eh? =P

    'Tis in D major. ;)

  • Hahaha I know ;) But since Anthony plays it so well, I will call it Canon in Deaton ;)

  • Indeed it sounds great. :)

  • OMG You are awesome Anthony! Ty for posting Helraizer!

This is my new favorite of this piece!

    Big ups and Raspect Anthony!

  • Great coordinataion ! awesome !

  • Ahhh!

    Wonderful compositions by Anthony Deaton.

Thought I'd stop by to listen for the 200th time, my favorite version of Canon in D.

    Hope you're doing great.

BTW, My Godin Synth Axe with Roland GR20 applies a very nice symphony background to your work. I jam to this great historic classical tune all the time.

    Thanks to your great talent.

    Cheers!

    Greg

  • hm..i just like it. beautiful version

  • Something wonderful

  • Just like Zachkim :)

  • Sweet. I wish I could do that.

  • Is there something stopping you?

  • Ok, if you notice. This video was posted before the 'original author' posted his own, also it is a different version. If you actually read the comments of this video Anthony Deaton thanked me for posting this video, so it's not 'reposting' fyi!

  • quite true - my apologies

  • Instead of going to sixteenth notes, I think it would have been more impressive - in my opinion - if you stayed slow and balanced the melodies. Very good, though I would have used a notch less reverb so it sounds sustained, but not muddled.

  • I agree. It's not nearly as difficult if both hands are playing in the same rhythm.

  • so hard but nice job

  • That was pretty hard...

  • Fucking amazing!"

  • I've been trying to learn something like that. A lot more simple, though, and on one guitar. And I can't even do that. Amazing!

  • To be fair, this piece isn't physically on one guitar because you can't play 2 notes on the same string. ~Sam

  • I don't though. I only do one note at a time for the bass part, starting at 5 on the A.

  • Thank you so much mygreys for sharing this unbelievable musicianship with me... Really enjoyed this... xoxo Amazing... thank you for posting hr

  • You know how hard that is to multi task like that!

    AWESOME job man :]

  • excellent!!! Bravo!

  • Bloody Amazing..

  • wooooow

  • dude, that was one of the best ones ive heard. there are little parts where it wasn't 100% clean and 1 part where you sped up, but i say this constructively. you're 10x better than me, i dont say this to degrade that awesome music! just work on a few things and you will be hugeeee. good luck on your road to sucess!
